Unit9 How much is it?

一、教学目标:

1.能听懂、会说、认读新单词:brush, ball, crayon, knife, notebook, toy car.

2.能初步掌握句型:“ I want…./ how much is it?询问价格及购物。

二、教学重点及难点:

1.重点:能听懂、会说、认读新单词:brush, ball, crayon, knife, notebook, toy car

2.难点:能在一定情境下正确运用所学句型询问物品价格及进行购物。

教学PPT、单词卡片、实物

四、教学步骤

Period 1

Step1: Warming up

1.Greet with the class.

2.Sing a song : Ten Little Fingers. Ss are required to dance to the song.

Step2 : Presentation and drill

1.I’ll create a specific situation in which I’ll act as a boss of a stationery shop. T: Look, here is a shop. I’m the boss of this shop. Welcome to my shop! Can I help you? What do you want?

At this time, I’ll show the sentence: I want _____. to help Ss to answer my question.

Ss: I want a pen/pencil/pencil-box/book….

T: Here you are.

T: Do you want a brush?

After leading the word brush, I’ll teach them how to pronounce the new word and drill it in a short while.

T: How much is it? Can you guess?

Ss: It’s____ yuan.

2.Take out a ball.

T: What’s this in English? Ball, a ball.

Ss should pronounce the word ball and read it several times.

T: Can you bounce the ball? Who want to bounce the ball? When you bounce the ball, other Ss should count together at the same time.

T: OK, look, I have a ball and a brush. Which one do you want?

Ss: I want a ball.

T: How much is it? If you can guess it out, I’d like to give this ball to you. Ss: It’s____ yuan.

T: Here you are.

3.Take out a crayon.

T: Do you want a crayon?

Ss: Yes. I want a crayon.

Lead them to say out this sentence and teach them how to read this new word. T: How much is it?

Ss: It’s____ yuan. ( the word knife will be taught in the same way.)

4.Notebook.

Show them a book and ask them what it is. Then show them a notebook and also ask them what it is. Make sure they can make a difference between the book and the notebook. Read the word notebook several times.

T: Let’s guess. How much is it?

Ss: It’s ____ yuan. ( the word toy car will be taught in the same way.)

Step3: Practice

1.When I show the things like a brush, Ss should be seated and read the word brush. When I show the word card, Ss should stand up and read the word. 2.Wooden child and Hide the hands.

Wooden child: I’ll choose a student to stand in front of the blackboard with his or her back to the whole class. The rest of the Ss should read the word till the student turn to them and they should keep silent and be not required to move. The slowest one will lose his or her points.

Hide the hands: When the student who stands in front of the blackboard turn to the rest of the Ss, they should hide their hands as quickly as possible. The slowest one will lose his or her points.

3.Eyes and ears

Make a shape of my mouth without making a sound and let Ss guess what I’m going to say. The fastest one will get the points.

Step4: Let’s go shopping.

1.Work in pairs.

One of the students should act as a saler and the other one should play as a buyer. Practice it and check it out later. (they can buy whatever they have.) 2.Hold a competition.

Ss are divided into two groups to buy things according to a shopping list. The fastest one will be the winner.

Step5: Conclusion

1.Review what we’ve learned today and make a short conclusion.

2.Choose the group that wins the competition.

Step6: Homework

1.Make a conclusion of the words about stationery in a way that you like.
