It is raining! 教学设计

本节课是新目标七年级下册第7单元第一课时，主要是学习询问天气情况的表达方式，以及学习表天气特征的形容词，是一节听说课，主要培养学生的听说能力。教学过程中将信息技术与英语教学融合，有效解决教学的重难点，并设计天气预报环节，使学生能够在实践中体会到学习英语的乐趣，更积极地运用目标语言，培养学生在实际生活中综合运用所学语言能力。

Teaching aims:

1. Vocabulary: rainy, raining, snowy, snowing, cloudy, windy, sunny，weather, Moscow, Boston 2. Structures: How’s the weather? What’s the weather like?

3. Learn to talk about the weather. 4.Protect the environment to have great weather . Teaching key points: 1.Learn to use the words：

raining, sunny, cloudy, snowing, windy, hot, cool, warm, humid

2. Learn to talk about the weather in different places。

Teaching difficult points: 1 . How’s the weather?

2.It’s raining/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowing/

Teaching procedures:

Step1. Warming up and leading in

Ask the Ss randomly: What’s the date today? What day is it today? 1.

Let two students act out their dialogues, the others watch and answer questions: What are they doing? What's she/ he doing? Show some pictures and ask questions:

let students answer the questions ,thus reviewing the present progressive tense 2.

Play a guessing game ,let students guess people are doing different things, For the last question: What is she doing? And it is raining heavily ,today let us talk about the weather. The teacher helps Ss answer to present the new words: weather.

教学目的：利用电教多媒体图文并茂的导入能使课堂更加生动，直观，让学生产生兴趣，愿意去探索和研究。

Step2. Presentation of the new words

Show pictures about the weather ,let student learn them: How’s the weather? Get them to answer like: It’s snowing/snowy. Go on with other kinds of weather: sunny, rainy, raining, cloudy, windy, snowy, snowing. 2.

An easy chant to reinforce the words about the weather. a game let students be familiar with

the words about the weather.

A game to be familiar with the new words, students look at the pictures and answer the questions by using the words about the weather. 教学目的：通过图片对新单词的学习，学生能够直观有形象的了解每个单词的含义。学生对这种方法也很感兴趣。Chant

朗朗上口的节奏加深了学生的印象，通过做游戏进一步巩固单词。

Step3. Presentation of the new structures 1.

The teacher says "If we want to know about the weather, how do we ask?" to present the target languages" How's the weather? =What's the weather like?"

Then show some pictures to practice (ask and answer)

Thus Ss can use what they learned to practice the target languages.

教学目的：利用多媒体自然恰当的呈现可以使教学内容由繁到简，有难变异，既利于教师清楚的，系统的传授知识，又能利于激发学生的兴趣，集中学生的注意力。有利于学生理解，吸收和记忆所学知识。

Step4.Pairwork:

Imagine you want to visit your friend who is in another city ,call and ask about the weather ,like this:

-- Is that Linda? This is Mary. -- Yes, speaking. -- I want to visit you. How is the weather in Beijing? -- It is sunny. 4.Teaching the place by using the pictures, then tell them today I am going to take you to many beautiful cities ,do you like to go with me? thus learn the city names. Then say in different cities, they have different weather , let students work in pairs by using How's the weather in SW? =What's the weather like in SW?" It is windy/cloudy…. 教学目的：这个任务，让学生对新学的目标语言输出。通过打电话，既练习了目标语言，又复习了打电话用语。英语要作为交际工具来教，也要作为交际工具来学，做到学用统一。

Step5. Listening practice:

1.Tell students my brother likes travelling ,he is going to the five cities, but he need to know the weather conditions first, please help him ,then play the tape and get Ss to write the city names in the boxes. Check the answers. Look at the 5 pictures in 1a. Encourage Ss to use the description words to describe the weather: ①Beijing—sunny and warm/hot ②Shanghai—cloudy and cool ③Boston—windy and cool

④Moscow—snowing and cold ⑤Toronto—raining and humid.

2. Practice with the structures in pairs: How’s the weather? and What’s the weather like? with the 5 pictures

Note: Talking about the weather is quite common in western countries as a daily greeting. 教学目的：教师要起到活动支持者和引导者的作用，听前期、听中期和听后期，分别设置不同的任务，提高学生的听力水平，并积极参与到课堂中去。

Step6. Groupwork :Weather report Show a weather map of China. Get Ss to make a weather report as a CCTV reporter, teacher may make a sample, then

let make up a report about it. Giving the background music of the CCTV weather report, create an atmosphere of weather report, choose five or six students to be a weather reporter, give praise in time . 教学目的：兴趣是最好的老师，而兴趣来自好奇，来自体验，提供实践机会，让他们参与表演，这既符合中学生好动、表现欲强的年龄特点，同时也会进一步加强对所学知识的掌握。

教学目的：知识的掌握、技能的形成、能力的培养，必须通过一定的练习才能实现。所以，在英语教学中，练习是全面完成英语教学任务所必不可少的重要手段。它可以促使学生对英语的基本知识和技能的进一步理解、掌握、巩固和应用，也可以促使学生将其转化成为熟练的技能、技巧。

Step8 Summary& Homework

1.Review the words and the sentences. 2.We usually do different activities in different weather. Write some sentences about “what do you usually do when it’s (sunny, cloudy…) ?” For example, I usually play soccer when it’s sunny.........

3.Write an English weather report. 教学目的：总结使知识系统化，条理化。作业是学科教学的延续和补充，是对单位时间内所学知识的复习和巩固，是教师用来检查教学效果，指导学生的教学手段之一。巧妙地布置作业，不但能使学生对所学的知识在系统疏理的基础上得以升华，而且能激起学生的学习兴趣，使他们主动参与学习，
