Teaching aims :

1、Let the Ss know the basic change of the shadow clearly in English . 2、After this class ,Ss can say the science about the light and the shadow in English. 3、Let the Ss have a science attitude and a science viewpoint to face the objects. Ask the ruler on the desk : Is it long or short ?

Yes ,it is short ,but a magic can make it long . Let`s look and see . Step3

Presentation 1 Lead in:

Magic show

Ask two assistants ,one hold the torch ,one hold the ruler.Help the Ss to look and find out : The light changes,the ruler doesn`t change. 2 Introduce: 1)

It is the shadow of the ruler . Teach :Read after me ,shadow ,shadow,shadow(ppt) 2)

The light of the sun is one kind of the light ,so the sun goes the same way. Look ,This is the sun ,let`s look and see (assistants do ) When the sun rises,what happens ? Help Ss to answer : The shadow is long . Look ,When the sun is high in the sky ,what happens ? The shadow is short . Look ,when the sun goes down ,what happens ? Help Ss to answer : The shadow is long again .then the moon rises . 3)
