Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?

Period 1 (Section A 1a---1c) By Hou Yan Teaching aims 1.Knowledge Objects

①know new words of animals and describe animals.

② To talk about their preferences 2.Ability Objects To train students’ listening and speaking skills. 3.Moral Objects To raise interest of knowing about different kinds of animals and love and protect them. Teaching Difficult Points ①How to remember words well. ②Make conversations using the key words. Teaching Aids Tape recorder, Multimedia,PPT Teaching Procedures Step One .Lead-in To create an English environment, the teacher play the video. And ask Ss a question: What animals can you see in the video? I can see... ( e.g. animals---sheep, bird, cat, dog, mouse, cow, duck… )

Step Two. Presentation 1. Let’s go to the zoo. Show the class some pictures of animals and present other animals. And ask them: What’s this in English?

It's a tiger. (Then lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe) Ss look at the picture and try to remember the new words of the animals. 2. Then show some pictures on the big screen. Let Ss guess what animal it is. 3. Next, ask the students match the words with the animals in 1a on page 25 .. (1) Read the words together. (2) Match the words with the animals in the picture,then check the answers like this:Look at picture a,it’s a tiger. 5. Ask them to talk with their partners about the animals they like using the words they know

—What do you think of these animals? —I think they’re…(beautiful/ interesting......) Step three: Listening Work on 1b. Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. Play the recording again and repeat. Step Four: Pair work 1. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.” Then ask a student to do the model with you: —

Let’s see the lions first. —Why do you want to see them ? —Because they are interesting. 2. Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the animal in 1a. Step Five.Homework 1. Remember the new words and expressions. 板书设计：

教学反思：

Most of students are interested in animals.So they can understand and remember the new words of animals very well and very fast.And they can use the adjectives to describe the animals accurately.In this class,the key points and difficult points were highlighted and the goal was completed.
