新课导入

T：The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival in China. It's very important in China. We eat zongzi in order to remember Qu Yuan on that day. In the south of China, people also often have boat races. But do you know the way in which Chinese students in America spend the day? Let's turn to Page 35 to find the answer. 设计意图：本环节以中国人庆祝端午节的方式引出在外求学的中国学生的过节方式，自然过渡到本节课的学习中。

环节2

学习2a－2c 1．先让学生观察2a中的时间，并用英语表达出来。然后教师简要介绍地理知识——时差。教师列举出不同的地点，让学生猜一猜不同地区的不同时间。

2．让学生仿照2a中的对话编新的对话并进行练习，然后请几组学生当堂表演对话，教师予以点评。

3．让学生首先浏览2b中的问题，并理解题意。然后学生带着问题仔细阅读短文，在题通过课文学习掌握重要单词、短语以及句子；能用进行时态谈论世界各地的人们正在进行的不同活动

后写出答案并在文中找到判断的依据。

4．学生再次阅读短文并勾画出短文的重点单词、短语及句子，随后教师一一进行讲解。

5．让学生根据短文内容，将A、B两栏的单词组成短语，然后根据短文内容用这些短语写句子，完成2c的任务。

6．教师邀请学生读一读自己写的句子，其他学生仔细听，看看句子是否正确，对于学生表达有误的地方教师要及时纠正，并予以点评。

7．要点点拨。

(1)But there isn't a Dragon Boat Festival in the US，so it's like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family. ①there be句型表示“某处有某物”。在there be句型中，be动词的形式须采用就近原则，即：根据离be动词较近的名词的单复数来判断。例：There is a pen and an eraser on the desk.书桌上有一支钢笔和一块橡皮擦。

②any other指在同一范围内除了某人或某物以外的其他的任何人或物，后可跟单数名词，也可跟复数名词。例：I don't like any other books.我不喜欢其他的任何书籍。

【辨析】other、the other、

others与the others other 另外的，其他的(常用作形容词) 例：I also like other presents.我也喜欢其他的礼物。

例：There are two boys. One is John, the other is Tim. 这儿有两个男生。一个叫约翰，另外一个叫蒂姆。

例：Your designs are better than others.你的设计比其他的设计好。

例：This dictionary is better than the the

others (除……外)其他的(人或物) others in your home.这本字典比你家的其他字典好。

(2)Zhu Hui misses his family and wishes to have his mother's delicious zongzi. miss v. 思念；想念。常用搭配：miss sb./ sth. 想念某人或某物。例：I miss my mother and my brother very much.我非常想念我的母亲和弟弟。

8．学以致用。(根据汉语意思完成句子，一空一词) (1)当我在北京的时候，我很想念我的家人。

When I am in Beijing, I miss my family very much. (2)在这三间房中，有一间是干净的，另外两间却很脏。

others 其他的(人或物)

设计意图：教师和学生一起互动有助于增进师生之间的感情；让学生带着问题去阅读文章，有助于提升学生的阅读理解能力，此外，还可以帮助学生养成思考分析的好习惯。
