Section B 2a-2c Hello, everyone. It’s my great honor to stand here to share my presentation to you. My topic is Unit3 Why do you like koalas? Section B 2a-2c. This is my teaching design. Part 1 【Analysis of teaching material】

The topic of this lesson is Why do you like koalas? It is choosen from Junior English book 2, unit3. It mainly take about their favorite animals and how to protect them. The content of lesson is closely related to their daily life, which is good for their daily communicating

Part 2 【Analysis of students】

students in primary school have learned English for short time. But they don’t have a good foundation in English. This lesson will help them in listening, speaking, reading, writing, they can use the words and phrases they have learned today into real situation.

Part 3 【Teaching objectives】

Based on the analysis of teaching material and the situation of students, I set following three teaching objectives. 1.

Knowledge objective: Students can learn and master some new words : symbol; tree; kill; place; ivory; some sentences: “A: why do you like koalas?

B: because they .”

Ability objective: By listening and practicing, students will know how to describe their favorite animals . 3. Emotional objective: Through different teaching methods to make students try their best to protect the animals in great danger. Part 4 【Teaching key& difficult points】

To help to achieve my teaching objectives, the teaching Key & Difficult points are as follows: Key point: learn vocabulary about animals Difficult point：to protect dangerous animals in their own way. Part 5【Teaching methods】

As we all know, by using teaching method, students can learn better and be the real host in class, so in this class, I will mainly use Situational teaching Method , Communicative Approach and task-based language teaching method to arouse their interest. 【Study methods】

As for learning methods, I will lead my students to use Independent study method and Cooperation study method . Part 6 【Teaching procedures】

Step1: Warming-up & Lead-in

At the beginning of the class, after greeting my students, I will show them many pictures about animals I will ask them”what animals do you like? And why”.And then show them some pictures about animals in great danger. In this way, I can lead in the topic naturally and arouse their interest meanwhile. Step2: Pre-reading In pre-reading part, I will show them a picture of elephant and ask “What is the animals ? What do you know about elephant ? The teacher ask students to have some talks about the animals in groups.

S1: Elephants have two big ears and a long trunk. They are very smart .

S2: Elephants are smart animals.They can draw pictures very well and they can help people do many things ,so they are very helpful. Step3: While-reading 1.

Fast-reading :

I will ask my students to read the passage quickly. And find the topic sentence of each paragraph, then choose the best title for the passage.——Let’s Save the Elephants .

Paragraph 1 :

The elephant is one of Thailand’s symbols

Paragraph 2 ：Elephants are smart animals.

Careful reading

(1) I will ask students to read the passage paragraph and find the important information. read the para 1 and find the importance of elephants in Thailand and fill in the blanks. The first flag had ----------- on it .(a white elephant ) It is a symbol of ------------. (good luck ) (2). read para 2 , find the elephants’ abilities and make students discuss their other abilities. And then analysis the “this” in the last sentence. Students can express their ideas are as follows:

Pandas are cute and friendly.They are black and white.They have two small eyes and round ears.They move slowly.Pandas are very important in China.They are the symbol of our country,and everyone likes them very much .But they are in great danger.They are losing their homes now,because people cut down so many trees in the forest.To save them ,we should stop cutting down trees,plant more bamboos for pandas,and help people know more about pandas.
