Unit7. What does he look like? Teaching aims Knowledge aim: nose, blonde, mouth, round, face, eye, singer, be of medium height. Ability aim: Students can describe others’ appearances independently

and use the knowledge they learnt before to describe people. Emotional aim: Students can realize that the inner beauty is more important than the outside look. Teaching key points: How to let students understand the body parts and how to describe them correctly Teaching difficulty points: How to let students understand the listening material and make out the handcrafts and describe them with the mind map Teaching object: books, PPT, handicrafts, clue cards Teaching procedures: Step1.warming up and lead in Teacher will introduce herself to the students. T: hi everyone, I am Alice. I have many hobbies such as travelling, singing. And I want to be a singer. Do you like singing? Ss: Yes T: That’s great! I want to teach you a dance today. Are you ready? Teacher will teach students how to sing and dance the song “Head

shoulder knees and toes”. In this task, teacher will sing it four times. Each time the speed will be faster and faster. 设计意图：在自我介绍的环节，学生可以拉近和老师的距离感。教师通过自我介绍想要成为歌手（singer）同时该词也是本节课的新词，引出head，shoulder，knees and toes这首歌让学生在欢快的氛围中初步感知本单元的新词eyes, ears, mouth, nose等等。

Step2.Presentation Teacher will continue

the topic about hobbies. T: And I also like watching cartoons. I like different kinds of cartoons. My favorite cartoon is Conan Can you help me to describe Conan？Let’s do it together. T: What’s this？

Ss: It’s straight black hair. After this part teacher will ask students if they want to be Conan. And give students the assignment (be the Conan and find the spy. The groups which find the spy can be the winner. Students need to answer each question correctly then they can get the clues about the spy). 设计意图：在该环节中教师通过自我介绍喜欢看动漫从而引出整节课的重要人物柯南。同时通过柯南与同伴的身体部位的对比让学生学习本节课的重点单词。以及以“你想成为柯南么？”导出贯穿整节课的游戏环节。通过这个游戏可以加强学生的课堂参与度。

Step3.Exercise

After that students will have games of task1 Guess who. The students who answer correctly can get the clues. 设计意图：通过猜一猜的游戏环节可以增强学生对刚所学的知识的印象。以及将单词与人物的样貌进行联系。同时选用大家都喜欢的明星可以增加学生的参与度。

In Task 2, Students will play lucky wheel game. The teacher will start the wheel and let one student say stop and think of a student in the class with the according feature. After that, the student who was mentioned will stop the wheel again. 设计意图：学生们通过转盘游戏可以互相更加的了解班级成员。同时转盘中的信息还包含了section A所学的知识点，同时可以达到复习的目的。

In Task 3, students will be asked to select (a boy and a girl) and teacher will let them stand in front of the blackboard to draw the person according to the information given by teacher. The best painter can get the clue. 设计意图：在这个环节中学生可以增强动手能力以及激发学生的想象力。同时其他学生在念得同时可以达到训练口语的目的。

In Task 4, teacher will let students to look at Johnny’s and Tina’s photos and describe them first. After that, teacher will let students listening to the tape and answer those questions. After they answer the question, teacher will let students retell the appearances of Johnny Dean & Tina

brown. The students who answer the questions correctly can get clues. 设计意图：教师通过事先呈现Johnny 与Tina的图片并让学生听前进行描述，可以降低听力部分的难度，同时可以进行听前预测。听后让学生对于Johnny 与Tina的样貌进行复述可以让学生加强对听力文本的认知。

Task 5, Make your friends. Students need to work together by using the handcrafts to create their friends and describe them by the mind map (age, appearance, hobbies, family and job).

One student from each group will be asked to show on the stage. During all the tasks, if the students answer the questions correctly, they can have the clues. 设计意图：该环节是整个环节中最难的环节。学生在这个环节中需要小组一起动手并且讨论人物的特征与性格等等。学生们需要发挥想象力以及之前所学的知识来完成一个描述人物的小作文，并通过代表的形式展现给其他同学们。可以达到小组合作的目的。

Step4. Summary Students who have the clues need to speak out them loudly. After that, Teacher will reveal the real spy in the class (teacher herself). And let students watch the video about Nick Vujicic. And tell them the inner beauty is more important than the appearance. 设计目的：最后环节得到线索的同学读出线索，大家一起猜谁是间谍，最后发现间谍是在场的老师。这个环节学生合作找出间谍的过程会让

学生明白合作的重要性。同时通过尼克胡哲的视频可以让学生们明白外表很多时候并没有内心那么重要。

Step5.Homework Students need to find a family photo and try to describe their family members. 设计意图:让学生对家人进行外表的调查。可以让学生对家人更加的了解。同时通过表格的形式也可以让调查的人物的内容更加的具体。
