Key words&phrases:newspaper,read a newspaper,use,use the computer, soup,make soup ,wash,wash the dishes. Key sentences:-What are you doing? - I am watching TV.

-What is he doing? -He is using the computer.

-What are they doing? -They’re listening to a CD. Ability goal: To improve Ss’ skills of listening and speaking. Emotional goal:To let the Ss find the beauties around them. Teaching importance: To make Ss master the new words and phrases. Teaching difficulties:Talk about what people are doing. Teaching procedures: Step1. Greetings

Watch a short movie.

Step3. Lead-in

After watching the movie,teacher asks “Do you like this movie?Can you tell me what people are doing?

S:They are having a party.

T:What are they doing at the party?

S:They are singing and dancing at the party.

T:Great, this class we are going to learn Unit 6 I’m watching TV.please take out your English book,and turn to page 31. Step4. Presentation. 1)Show the language goal. 2)Learn new words and phrases,then teacher will ask students to read by themselves or with their partners. 3)Ask and answer, use some pictures to practice the words again. 4)Have a competition of some activities.who is faster.

Reading, running,taking a shower, eating breakfast,watching TV,talking on the phone. 5)Show some pictures on the screen, then practice the sentences:

What is she/he doing?-She/He is sing/dancing.

What are you doing?-I am watching TV. Step5. Activity 1a.

First,teacher ask Ss to finish 1a and check the answers. Step6. Activity 1b.

Ask Ss listen to the tape and finish 1b.

Ask three students to check the answers. Step7.Activity 1c.

Ask and answer questions about what people are doing of the pictures. Step8. Exercises. Step9 Homework.
