Unit6 I’m watching TV

Teaching aims and demands 1. Knowledge objects

1).to study the topic about what people are doing

2).to study the new words: watch TV, talk on the phone, use computer and so on

3).to study the new sentence structures: the Present Progressive Tense, What questions. 2. Ability objects

1).to develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

2).to develop the students’ abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.

to enable the students to express themselves freely.

Teaching key points and difficulties Enable the students to make conversations about what people are doing. Develop their communicative ability. The teaching difficulties are the new sentence structure, the Present Progressive Tense: be doing something. Teaching methods

“Task-based” teaching method. That is” learning by doing” “doing things with the language”. Watching pictures, talking, role-play the conversation, pair/group work.

Teaching procedures. Step1. Warming up Greet each other, and then make a free talk. Step2. Presentation 1) Let the students look at some pictures, then teach some new verb phrases: watch TV, clean, read newspaper, talk on the phone…

2) Ask students to look at some pictures, then ask and answer. Then lead to the Present Progressive Tense and what questions.

主语+be动词+动词现在分词

动词现在分词: 1.动词原型+ing reading , drinking, eating, meeting, thinking 2.以不发音字母e结尾，去e加ing writing, making 3.重读闭音节末尾只有一个辅音字母要双写结尾的辅音字母加ing sitting swimming putting running) 3)Do activity 1a。Match the activities with the pictures

1) Listening practice. Ask the students to finish 1b, listen and write the correct answers. 2) Making a dialogue(role-play). Step4. Group work Students look at the pictures, then work in group ,practice the Present Progressive Tense and what questions. Then ask some to present their conversations. Step5. Summary and homework

1) Ask the students to sum up what they’ve learnt on this lesson

Make 5 conversations using phrases in 1a(用1a中的词语做五个小对话) Recite 1b.(背诵1b)
