Unit5 Why do you like pandas? Teaching aims: 1.To train students listening and speaking skills. 2. Be able to grasp “why/what” questions.

3. Be able to express their feelings by telling others the reason. Teaching key points: 1.Master the words and target language. 2. How to describe the animals and express you feeling. Teaching difficult points: 1.Improve students’ listening.

2. Make conversations freely. Teaching procedures: Step1 Warm-up Free talk: What animals do you like? (pandas/dogs/tigers/giraffes…)

Why? Because they’re very (cute/interesting/fun/lazy…)

Step2 Lead-in Yesterday we have learned some words of animals, and know how to use some words to describe the animals. Now open you book, page 28, look at la. Step3 Presentation:

1. Look at the description words, then read the words and tell the meanings. 2. Look at the picture; match the description words with the animals. Then ask some students share their opinions and read the words together. 3.friendly(adj) 友好的

②be friendly with sb 和某人关系好

Eg: ①My classmates are all friendly to me. ②My classmates in our class are friendly with each other. Translation :1.他的妈妈对我们很友好。

2.他的弟弟和他的朋友关系很好。

Step 4 Listening (1b) Listen and check the animals you hear in 1a.then check the answers. (1c) Listen again. Fill in the chart. Then check the answers. Step5 Pair work -What animals do you like? -I like elephants. -Why? -Because they’re cute. Step6 Game (Guess the animals)

In this part, the teacher divided the class into three groups, then the teacher to describe animal, which group answer quickly and to score the most, is the winner. Step7 Summary Read the words and sentences. Step8 Homework
