教材分析：本课是《新路劲英语》11册的Lesson8。Lesson8所在的单元主要谈论的话题是节日，而Lesson8要求学生学习感恩节和中秋节的相关知识，是一节阅读课。

学情分析：学生通过近五年多的英语学习，对学习英语有浓厚兴趣，从四年级开始让学生做值日报告，部分学生所做值日报告极其精彩。而且值日报告内容会跟进课本所学，今天的值日报告中学生就会谈论他们喜欢的节日。通过点滴积累，学生的英语口语表达能力有了很大提高。但学生在了解世界文化、综合运用语言的能力以及科学的学习策略等方面仍有待于提高和强化。

教学目标：

在主题聚焦下，通过合理的情景创设，让学生能掌握中秋节和感恩节的相关知识。

通过情景的创设，让学生更好地感知、理解中西方节日文化。

学生能运用本课所学知识询问或谈论自己喜欢的节日，在聚焦国际理解的背景下，通过中西方节日的对比，开拓学生的视野，培养国际意识。能全面的体现英语学科课堂教学的核心素养
