II. Presentation 1. T: What is Hangzhou famous for?

T: Have you ever been to the West Lake?

S1: The West Lake.

S2: Yes, I have. T: What do you think of the West Lake? S2: It’s big and beautiful.

the West Lake has different beauty in different seasons.

2. Present the weather of the West Lake in four seasons by using the sentence strusture “What’s weather like in the spring?”---- It’s sunny and warm.

1. Match the words with the pictures in 1a. Check the answers. 2. Pair-work: Ask and answer questions about the weather and activities in the pictures. IV. Listening and imitating. （Work Sheet）

Task 1: T: I have two friends. They are talking on the phone. So who are they? What are they talking about? Check the items you hear. Task 2: Listen and write what Mary and Eric answer to “ where are you? How’s it going?”

Task 3: Listen again. Write the answers to “ what are you doing? How’s the weather?”

Task 4: Listen again and fill in the blanks. Then check the answers. Task 5：Imitate sentence by sentence. Notice the stress and intonation.

Intention: Here are five tasks to realize that Ss can have more chances to listen carefully and fully. V. Pair-work Suppose you are an oversea Chinese, and you are studying in America. You miss your 课堂练习

friend, and you are making a telephone call to her/ him and ask about the weather and the activities. Have some Ss act out their converations to the class.
