Unit 3 Why do you like koalas? Section A (1a-1c)

一．教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

( 1 )掌握表示动物的名词和描述动物特征的形容词。

（2）掌握why 引导的特殊疑问句的问与答。

（3）let’s+动词原形表建议。

2. 能力目标：

让学生学会动物名称及用why- becaus句式表达对动物的喜好。

3. 情感态度价值观目标：

(1).激发兴趣，培养学生保护动物，保护环境的意识。

(2).能在小组活动中积极与他人合作，相互帮助。通过引导学生对重点句型操练，培养学生的互助合作能力，促使他们在活动中乐于和他人合作情感和态度。

二．Teaching important points: 1.

New words:learn the names of animals and use some adjectives to describe animals. 2 Learn to express preferences and giving reasons.. 三．Teaching difficult points:

learn to use why-because to ask and answer questions. 四．教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming-up and lead in

1. Show parts of movie life of pi, And ask students to write down some animals’names: --What anmals can you see in the video?

2. Pi Club want some volunteers to protect animals with him. ---Do you want to be a zoo keeper?

Ⅱ. Presentation 1.

Listen to the sound and say what animal it is,then use a adjective to describe the

animal. —What animal is it?

—It’s a... —They are....s.They are cute

Then show the class some pictures of animals. And ask them to say sentence: ---I like panadas because they are cute ---I don’t like lions beause they are scary.

Ss look at the pictures and try to remember the new words of the animals.

3. Next,ask students turn to page 25 and finish 1a. 4. Check the answers with the class.

Ⅲ. Pair work: Ask student to work in paris to practice conversation: ---- Do you like koalas? ---- Yes,I do. ----Why do you like koalas? ---- Because they are cute. ---- Do you like panadas? ---- No,I don’t. ----Why don’t you like koalas? ---- Because they are lazy. Choose some pairs to show their conversation. Ⅳ. Group work 1c 1. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.”

Then ask a student to do the model with you: —

Let’s see the lions first.

—Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?)

Ⅴ. Listening.

Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a.

Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.

—Because they are interesting.

2. Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the animals in 1a. —Because they are interesting.

Ⅵ.writing Ask students to write something about their favorite animal or animals in the pictures the teacher give: Name: Beibei From: China

Age: five Feature: Cute and shy

Like: eating bamboo This is Beibei. He is five years old. He is from China. I like him because he is cute and shy. He likes eating bamboo(竹子）.And he lives in Beijing Zoo. Then ask some students to read their passage in class VII. Revision

Show some pictures that the anmials were killed and ask “What can we learn from the pictures?”and “How can we do in future?”

Homework:

Write a description of an animal you like.(写一篇文章介绍你喜欢的动物）
