一、Analysis of the students：我们班的学生大多来自乡村，其家庭背景都有差异，学生对英语知识的认知能力也不一样。另外，学生应有的英语基础知识信息储备不同，所以有一些两极分化的现象，学生不够自信。学生整体在听力、词汇量和口语表达等语言运用方面能力相对较弱。但是，学生经过上学期的学***多数已经适应了初中英语的学习，具备了一定的词汇量和阅读技能，比如查找细节信息、分析掌握文章语言点和大意等，在阅读速度方面也有一些提高，这有助于学生更好地完成本节课的课文阅读。

二、Textbook analysis: The topic of this unit is about food and birthday food in different countries. It is easy for students to understand. Because through the study of section A in this unit, students have a basic vocabulary and sentence pattern knowledge reserve related to the topic of this unit. In this lesson, we will read more about the special significance of birthday food in different countries. Through group communication and other activities, students' sense of cooperation can be fostered to help students further consolidate their understanding of the target language and vocabulary of this lesson. Reading part mainly through some simple reading skills to

cultivate students' reading ability.

Step 1. Revision and lead-in：

1）Review the new words and phrases: ask students to read them after me, then read them together. 2）Look at the picture of birthday cake, then talk about “What do you do or eat on your birthday?”

Ask some students to say something about birthday. Step 2. Presentation 1、Fast Reading：Birthday Food Around the World

1)Read this article and check

The children in the UK like eating cakes.

In China, people only eat noodles on birthday. The skill:Get the main idea from the title of the passage 2)

Read the article quickly and find out the topic sentence in each paragraph. ask the students to read it quickly, then ask the students to finish task.
