Unit 8 Where is the post office? Section A (1a-1c)

一、教学目标

1. 语言知识目标：

1) 能掌握以下单词：

post office, police station, hotel, restaurant, bank, hospital, street, pay phone, near. 2) 能掌握以下句型：

—Excuse me, is there a hospital near here? —Yes, there is. —No, there isn’t. 学会There is / are…Is/are there..的句型及用法。

2. 情感态度价值观目标：

1. 通过本课的学习，培养学习习惯，学会礼貌用语，融洽与他人的关系，感谢他人。

2. 通过运用简单的问路和引路的交际用语，学会相互合作，培养乐于助人的精神。

2) 进行听力训练，提高综合听说能力。

本单元主要话题是问路，因此从复习地点名词入手，进而自然的过渡到本单元的话题，这样以旧带新能帮助学生扩展思维。

Step 2

Presentation (幻灯片3-20) 引导学生们看幻灯片中的图片，根据提示依次说出本课时出现的生词。

设计意图:

图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一，学生通过图片，能更价值观的理解新单词的含义。

Step 3 Game. （幻灯片21-29）

Work in groups, ask the Ss to close the textbook and take out a piece of paper and write down the places they see in 10 seconds. Compare which group is the best. 设计意图:

通过比赛写单词练习，使学生进一步掌握和巩固新单词。

Step 4 Practice （幻灯片30）

本教学环节以练习的形式让学生在具体的语境中巩固新单词，能有效地提高学生记忆的能力。

Step 5 Listening （幻灯片31-32）

Work on 1b:

1. Tell Ss to listen and circle the places you hear in 1a.

2. Play the recording for the Ss.

3. Check the answers with the Ss. 4. Ask the Ss to listen again and fill in the blanks. 5. Check the answers with them.

设计意图:

此环节着重是听力训练。让学生在听对话的过程中抓住关键词汇，由于前面已做了一些训练，因此学生听起来比较容易，让他们都有一次成功的喜悦和感受，这样可以增强他们的学习自信心。

Step 6 Pair work （幻灯片33-34）

（1）Have Ss get into pairs and practice the conversation with their partner. Then have them ask and answer questions about the other places in 1a..

(2) Have some pairs present their conversations to the class.

设计意图:

此环节是让学生运用所学句型来进行操练，有利于巩固所学句型。
