Duration:45minuts Ⅰ. The analysis of teaching material 本单元所学内容主要是与我们的生活息息相关，表达个人对动物的喜好，了解动物的外形、生活习性。本单元的话题学生比较熟悉，兴趣会更浓。因此在设计中我会加大知识的扩展，会谈到一些动物濒危的原因及如何保护动物，激发学生热爱动物，保护动物，学会与动物和谐相处和保护生态平衡。最终教会学生创造性地使用所学知识并运用于实践。

The students are from grade7 in junior high school. They have achieved certain English level and they have the ability to write a passage. They are easily

activated and want to express their own opinion on the topic.They all like animals . But their vocabularies are limited so they may have difficulties in expressing some sentences. Ⅲ. Teaching

Step1. Lead-in(7min)

Activity1:Review some words about animals.Show some nice pictures of animals.

Step2.Review the target language.

What animals do you like?

Why do you like them?

What other animals do you like?

Ask students to practice the target language with their partner.

Ask students to have a guessing game about animals.One student describes the animals they like, the others guess. 示范：They are from China,they’re black and white.They’re shy but friendly.They like eating bamboo.What are they?

Step4.Show a video about pandas.

Activity1:Play a video about pandas in Chengdu Research Base.

Ask some questions:1.What do keepers do for pandas? 2.What do baby pandas have for breakfast? 3.Why do pandas live in the research base? 4.Why are they in danger?

Step5.Have a discussion. Now we know pandas are in danger.If you are a member of WWF, what will you do ?(work in groups .One student writes down the situation ,the other student write down the advice.) Step6.Writing practice Imagine you are a guide.Many students will visit the zoo to see the pandas.You should write a speech.Think about how to write it. 1.The students talk about how to write it. (Introduction ,appearance,character,habit,situation,solution,hope...) 2.
