【学习目标】：

一、语言能力：

1、掌握下列单词：

有关动物的名词：panda, zoo, tiger, elephant, koala, lion, giraffe, animal, penguin, dolphin 有关描述动物的形容词：cute, smart, beautiful

了解: scary, lazy, fierce, imposing, shy 有关国家名称的词：China, Australia, South Africa

其他：kind of, be from 2、掌握下列句型：(1) A: Why do you/does he like pandas?

B: Because they are kind of cute. (2) A: Where are they from?

B: They are from China. 了解：

A: Why don’t you like tigers? B: Because they’re kind of scary.

二、文化意识：通过本课学习，学生认识动物、了解大自然，了解动物生长的地域知识，动物和人类都生活在同一个地球上，学生明白动物是人类的朋友，人类应该与动物和谐相处、共同生存、关爱动物、保护动物、维护生态平衡。

三、思维品质：通过观察(看)现有信息如图片信息(2a)、文本信息(2b)，分析、预测、推理听力内容的能力；发表不同于他人观点(如对同种动物不同喜好)的批判思维。

四、学习能力：在学习中集中注意力，积极思考，遇到问题主动向老师或同学请教，积圾与他人合作，共同完成学习；在学习活动中能够用英语与他人交流，

英语下 通过重复其它同学的词句来培养瞬间记忆和快速记忆的能力，用学过的词句描述事物的能力；在学习中善于利用图画等非语言信息理解主题。

【学习重点】：

1、学生能够灵活运用动物名称和描述动物特点的形容词；

2、学生能够使用why, where引导的特殊疑问句及简要回答。描述动物，谈论喜好。

【学习难点】：学生能够运用描述性形容词对动物描述、谈论喜好或介绍。

【学习过程】：

Step1 Warming-up and lead in

T: How are you today? / What day is it today? / What’s the date today? We’ll have a holiday (May Day) soon. It’s a good time to go out. Julia and Henry are going out. Where are they going? Ss: Watch a video and find the answer. T: Yeah. They are going to the zoo.

【设计意图】：联系实际，五一假期马上到了，是个出游的好时机。Julia和Henry打算去哪儿？通过英语问候和视频导入，首先创设一个英语氛围，激发学生学习兴趣。

Step2 Brainstorming(头脑风暴) T: Watch again. How many animals can you see in the zoo? Ss: Try to speak out the names of animals they know. 【设计意图】：预先布置任务，七年级孩子思维活跃、积极性高，形形色色的动物能激发学生的好奇心，产生了解它们的欲望。

(Learn the new words about animals by seeing the pictures one by one.) 【设计意图】：逐一出示各种动物，通过一系列问题完成目标词汇学习，在句中再次练习巩固目标词汇和句式。通过点读反复记忆单词，达到音、形、义完美结合，学生可以通过跟读比较自己的读音。除了本课必备的单词和句式，还补充了Section B 以及课外的一些内容，拓展学生课外知识，以满足部分优秀生的需求。

Step4 Listening

I can choose T: Listen! Julia and Henry are talking about animals. What animals are they talking about? Ss: Listen to 1b and check the animals they hear in 1a. (Check in front) (2) I can write and match

(Before listening 2a) T: What animals can you see in the picture? (Look at the pictures near them) Ss: Guess what they are talking about. (While listening 2a) Ss: Listen to 2a and write down the names and match the animals with the description words. (Check in front) (Before listening 2b)

T: Read the words in the box and the conversation carefully, please.

英语下 Ss: Try to fill in the blanks by themselves before listening, then listen and check their answers. (Ask one student to come to the front and write the answers.) 【设计意图】：通过听前观察图片、熟悉文本，培养学生预测能力和熟悉听力文本的习惯，争取做到有的放矢，达到听的输出。

(After listening) T: Here is a map of the world. Do you know where the animals are from? S: One student come to the front and point at the countries on the map. 【设计意图】：展示一幅世界地图，出示四种动物，通过询问动物的栖息地，让学生在地图上直观感受目标语言中的几个国家，增强学生与其他学科(地理)联系的意识。

Step 4 Pair work

Julia likes koalas and Henry likes dolphins. What animals do you like? Ss: Choose one animal and talk about it with their partners (Try to know more about this kind of animals) 【设计意图】：通过拓展问题既巩固目标句式又练习第三人称单数。

学生通过与同伴谈论一种动物，练习并巩固所学单词、句式，达到说的输出。

Step5 Guessing game

Ss: Choose one kind of your favorite animal and talk about it in groups. Then show it by groups. Others guess what animal they are talking about. 【设计意图】：小组合作完成对一种动物的描述，一人说一句或一方面，其他组根据描述猜测该动物，最快猜测出的组获胜。在此环节，给学生提供的表格中，除了学生本课必备的单词和句式，还补充了Section B 以及课外的一些内容，拓展学生课外知识，使优秀生可以吃得饱，并为课后写作作业提供素材。

英语下 Step 6 Summary T: Today we go to the zoo with Julia and Henry. What have you learned? Ss: (复述知识目标、能力目标) 【设计意图】：培养学生总结归纳能力，并梳理本课知识结构及听力技巧。

T: Most animals are friendly and cute, but some are killed by people (show the pictures). Lots of them are in danger, animals are our friends, let’s help to protect them! May Day is coming. Are you going to see your favorite animals? Before you go to the zoo, please finish your homework.

【设计意图】：动物和人类都生活在同一个地球上，动物是我们的朋友，告诉学生关爱动物，保护动物，人类应该与动物和谐相处、共同生存。

Step 7 Homework

1. Make a survey and then write a report according to the survey.

2. Write a passage about “My favorite animal”.

【设计意图】：作业为可选择性的，学生可以根据自己的兴趣选择其一。1. 为关于动物的调查报告（包括表格和汇报报告）；2.为关于自己喜爱的动物的文章。二者均给出模板，学生可以有参照，达到写的延伸，为下节课打下基础。
