《英语课程标准（2011版）》倡导关注学生思维，发展学生思维能力，鼓励学生积极参与各种课堂学习活动，积极与他人合作，共同完成学习任务。《课标》中强调要培养学生的综合语言运用能力，教师在教学设计时应依据课程的总体目标，结合教学内容、学生的需要，积极创设贴近学生实际的课堂活动，采用循序渐进的方法，激发学生学习英语的兴趣，养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略，发展自主学习能力，促进综合语言运用能力的提高。

本节课中，教师利用童谣帮助学生复习关于动物、颜色和身体部位的语言，激活学生的知识储备，通过设计不同形式、层层递进的活动，鼓励学生通过体验、实践、参与及合作交流等方式掌握谈论动物和描述动物体貌特征的语言，发展学生的综合语言运用能力。

2.教学背景分析

【教材内容】

本单元是北京版小学英语二年级上册Unit5 I have long arms.话题是谈论动物及其体貌特征，本单元共有新授课3课时，分别是Lesson17，Lesson18，Lesson19，复习课1课时，是Lesson12。

在知识储备方面，学生在本册教材的Unit4学习了动物园中常见动物的名称，在一年级的语音词汇学习中掌握了head、hair、eye等身体部位的表达，并于一年级下册Unit3 What color is your bag?学习了颜色的表达。在此基础上，本单元的学习和教育价值是关注动物或物品的外貌特征，并主动表达自己身体部位的特征，形成主动与他人交流的习惯。

【学情分析】

本单元学习的主题与动物有关，课文采用猜谜游戏的方式呈现新知，深受学生的喜爱。在以往的学习中，学生已经掌握了有关动物、颜色和身体部位的词汇。本课时的授课对象是大兴二小二年级2班的学生，学生已经初步形成英语学习的习惯，具备一定的语言基础，英语学习兴趣浓厚。

【教学目标】

1.能够在情境中用“What’s this?”询问这是什么动物，并能用“It’s a/an ….”回答出动物的名称。

2.能认读和运用big、red、white、eyes、ears、hair描述本课所学动物rabbit、elephant、panda、zebra等的身体部位，并进行交流。

3.能根据有限的身体部位信息与同学、朋友猜测和谈论动物，并能描述动物的外貌特点。

【教学重点】

1.学习询问这是什么动物“What’s this？”并能应答出动物的名称“It’s a/an ….”

2.学习用“It has….”描述动物的身体部位。
