Unit 6 I’m watching TV. Section A (1a~1c) Teaching aims: 1、知识与技能：

（1）Learn some new phrases: watch TV, read a newspaper, talk on the phone, listen to, use the computer, make soup, wash the dishes. （2）Learn some sentences:

——They are listening to a CD. （3）Be able to talk about what people are doing? 2、情感、态度与价值观

Cultivate the students’ teamwork spirit. Important and difficult points: 1、Master the key words and sentences. 2、Be able to talk about what people are doing? 3、know something about Present progressive tense. Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warm up

1、Let’s sing a song——Brother Bear T: Do you remember the sentences you hear just now? S: Are you sleeping?/ Moring bell is ringing.

T: What are you doing? S: I’m having English class.

Step 2 Presentation 1. Look at the pictures, and answer the questions according to the pictures. ——What is he doing? ——He is

——What is she doing? ——She is

2. Practice some new phrases by using Present progressive tense.: exercise, watching TV, reading a newspaper, talking on the phone, listening to a CD, using the computer, making soup, washing the dishes. 3. Read the new words after teacher and show the meaning of the new words. 4. Work on 1a, and correct the answers together: i d g a h e b c f

Step 3 Consolidation 1. Memory Test Remember the phrases for 30 seconds, and then try to recall the places of every phrase.

(to practice the new phrases.) 2. Guessing game Covering the pictures, and let students guess what they are doing. ——What is he/ she/ they doing?

3. Doing a listening task: What are these people doing?

Finish 1b and check the answers together. ——What is Jenny doing? ——She is watching TV.

Step 4 Practice 1. Pair Work

：Student A says what he is doing, and student B guesses the pictures in 1a. ——What is he doing? ——He is cleaning. Do you know which picture? ——Oh, it’s picture b, right? ——Yes…

And let one pair show their conversations. 2. Group work:

One student do the action, and others try to guess what he is doing.

Step 5 Summary In this period, we have learned how to talk about what people are doing. Through listening and speaking, we practice using the Present progressive tense. Let’s review the new phrases and sentences. I believe all of you have done a good job.

Step6 Homework 1. Write at least three phrases with v.-ing.
