Teaching aims: 1) Students learn something about Dragon Boat Festival. 2) Students learn more about Present Progressive Tense. 3) Students master the new words and phrases. 3. Teaching important and difficult points: 1) Students master the new words and phrases. 2) Make students understand the TV report well. 4. Teaching methods: Reading, Writing, Working in groups, Discussing 5.

Teaching steps: Step 1 Warming up and revision Lead the students to talk about time. (Look at the cards.) Step 2 Presentation 1) Read the new words for three times together.

2) Fast reading. Then ask the questions: Why are Zhuhui’s family watching boat races and making Zongzi? Does America have Dragon Boat Festival? 3)

Read in groups loudly.(Find some students to read or translate the passage.) Step 3 Explanation The teacher explains the key sentences to the whole class. Step 4 Practice Come to 2c. Match the verbs in column A with the words in column B. Then use the phrases to write sentences according to the TV report.(Give Ss two minutes to finish it and then check the answers.) Step 5 Summary What did you learn today? What can we do on that day? Step 6 Homework Copy the new words for three times. Finish off the exercise book.
