(1)spend的用法：

Spend 的主要意思是“花费，消费，消耗”，

主语一般是人，主要有两个句子结构：

1）spend …on sth. 花费/消耗……在某物/某事上，这里的on不

能省略。

2）spend time on/ in doing sth. 花费/消耗时间在某物上，这里的on/ in可以省略。

如：He usually _______ his money _______ books .

He always _______ much time _______(do) homework . (2) watch 的用法

watch可以做及物动词，意为“注视，观看”。其结构为watch sb. do sth. 看着某人做了某事；watch sb. doing sth. 看着某人正在做某事。watch还可以用作名词，意为“手表”。

He watched them eating . 他看着他们吃。1. Activity 2a (Pre-reading) 让学生两人一组针对2a中所列的不同地点根据个人情况进行问与答，参考对话如下：

A：Is there a clothes store near your home ? B: Yes , there is . Go along …

双方交换角色回答完毕后，根据世界情况勾出自家附近有的地点，同时可用符号标出同伴家附近有的地点。

2. Activity 2b

(while-reading)

1）让学生先观察2b的三幅图片，然后快速浏览2b三篇短文中的第一、二句和最后一句，完成2b的图文匹配任务。全班核对答案。

2）让学生仔细阅读三篇短文和相关图片，然后分小组讨论，根据Anna , John , Lisa 的居住环境回答课本上2c的问题。各小组进行竞赛，比一比哪个小组回答的最快、最好。

Anna thinks that when the monkeys are fighting , they look like her friends fighting . ③ John likes her exercise at the park . ④ Answers to will vary . ⑤ Lisa walks to the library . She goes down North Road and then turns left . The library is across from the park . 3）让学生再次阅读短文，从阅读篇章中找出描述路线的语句，然后根据文章中的描述，在插图中将路线标出来，全部核对答案。

4）播放录音，让学生听录音并跟读，注意句子的重音和停顿。如时间和条件允许，教师可让学生选取三篇小短文中的一篇，用第三人称转述该人物所在社区的情况。结合板书，让学生自己盘点所学单词和句型，整理笔记。
