“It’s raining”教学设计

Step 1: Greeting and lead-in

Greet the students as usual, and then try to talk about the weather by asking “how’s the weather?”

Students may give different answers like “sunny; cloudy and raining”. After that, introduce the topic of this class.

Present different pictures of the weather and ask “how’s the weather?”. Then students will answer “it’s raining”. “it’s cloudy”. and “it’s snowy”.

Step 2: Game: Quick eyes

Present some pictures and change them quickly to challenge students and ask them to say the weather as loudly as possible.

Review the words “cloudy”, “rainy”, “windy”, “snowy”, “sunny”. Step 3: Know the signs

Present signs of the weather and the adjectives of the noun. Let students guess the meaning first and then show the results.

Let students summarize the rule “n.+? adj.” and “n.+y

adj.”

Step 4: Practice Finish 1a and match the words with the pictures and introduce the places with the pictures. For example: Where is it? It is Boston./Beijing./Moscow./ Toronto. Step 5 Role-play the dialogue

A: How’s the weather in Beijing?

B: It is sunny.

A: How’s the weather in Boston?/What’s the weather like in Beijing?

2 students a pair to practice the conversation. Step 6 Listening

Listen and number the pictures. Check the answers together. Later, listen again and match the names with the activities. Step 7 Bonus time

Play a game. 2 points for each part.

Weather report. Different groups discuss first and send a representative to give a weather report.
