Unit10

What does that sign mean? 第一课时

一、教学目标

(一)语言目标

1.词汇:能听懂、会说、认读新单词sign, mean, talk, fish, pick, smoke, spit

;能听懂、会说新单词cinema, exit, visitor, mobile phone。

2.句型:能初步运用“What does that sign mean?”“It means …”“Do not…”询问及解释公共标志的含义。初步了解“Do not/Don’t +动词原形”“No+动词ing形式”以及“No+名词”句式的用法。

(二)应用目标

1.了解特定场所的公共标志有关知识,了解公共场所所需遵循的一些规则。

2.能用英语向人询问公共标志的含义,并给出简单的答复。

3.能听懂、会说A部分的对话。

二、教学重、难点

1.重点:能初步运用“What does that sign mean?”“It means …”“Do not…”询问及解释公共标志的含义。

2.难点:了解公共标志的表达方法“Do not/Don’t +动词原形”“No+动词ing形式”以及“No+名词”结构和用法

三、教学准备

单词卡片、教学挂图、教学磁带、有关图标的卡片

四、教学过程

Step 1 热身/复习(Warm-up/ Revision)

Step 2 新课呈现(Presentation)

1.游戏:唱反调。

T:If I say “Come here”,you should say “Do not come here”,OK?

T:Turn left.

Ss: Do not turn left. T:Throw rubbish./Eat./Drink./Pick flowers./Talk./Touch/…

用游戏的方式让学生熟悉祈使句及祈使句的否定形式。

T:Smoke. Ss: Do not smoke. 2.New words and phrases (1)Do not smoke No smoking. ①通过游戏引出smoke这个单词,感知它的发音,模仿发音。

②通过动作或图片理解单词smoke的意义。

③学习句子“Do not smoke.”让学生知道“Do not smoke﹦No smoking”,

“No+动词ing形式”,表示禁止做某事。

(2)用多媒体或图片出示各种场合的指示牌、标志,学习单词sign。

T:Are they pictures?

2.No. T:They are signs. There are many signs in our life. (3)学习标志:Do not use a mobile phone./Do not talk./Do not fish./Do not pick flowers./Do not spit. Do not use a mobile phone. Do not talk. Do not fish. No mobile phones. No talking. No fishing. Do not spit. Do not pick flowers. No spitting. No picking flowers. 用唱反调的游戏来操练刚才学的标志。

3学习句型“What does that sign mean?”“It means …”

将学过的标志问一遍。注意讲解mean的意思及其中ea的发音。

4.课文学习

(1)用课件或挂图呈现电影院的场景,学习单词cinema。

T:Who are they?

Ss: They are Lingling and Mingming. T: Where are they going? Ss: They are going to the cinema. (2)看A部分的VCD或者听录音、看挂图、理解课文大意。

(3)新知识点:Exit: It means “You can go out from there”. Staff only means “Visitors do not go in”. (4)Read aloud.学生自己朗读,然后分角色朗读。

(5)根据关键词或图片复述课文。

T:Please retell Part A with the key words or signs. Step 3 趣味练习(Practice)

看图说句子。用多媒体呈现一些标志或指示牌,学生根据图片说句子。

S1:What does that sign mean? S2:It means …

2.

创设情境,自由对话。

教师创设情境,引导对话。学生两人一组,根据教师所给情境编对话。

T: There’re three situations: in the library, in the

park, in the classroom. Please choose one place to make up a dialogue. 情境1 In the library: “Do not smoke.”“ Do not use a mobile phone. ”

Describe the sign. T: Now each group has got an envelope. There are some signs and notices. Please match them first. Then choose one sign and talk about it. Where

do we see this sign? What does it mean? Let’s see which group will match them quickly and correctly. 作业布置(Homework) 1.听磁带,读课文。
