Greet the class. 2.

One minute’s free talk, talk about your last weekend activities. T—What did you do last weekend? How was your weekend? S—I did homework/ watched TV/ played computer games/played basketball/studied for the test/ cleaned the room--- 2. Sum up the results of students. 3. guess--- “What did Miss Li do last weekend?”--went to the movie. 4.Enjoy the short movie ,and answer 3 questions.

Q1.What's the short movie about ? An old man and a dog. Q2.What did the old man do ?

Took a shower for the dog./Slept with the dog./Fed the dog./Played with the dog./Had Christmas Day with the dog./Went for a walk with the dog. Q3.Do you think the old man was happy? Why? 5.check the answer,and ask students “do you want to know what happened next ?”then look at the picture and the article.

Step3. Group work 1. Imagine you work for the Heart-warming Project. Discuss in groups about what you can do to help Old Henry to be happy again. 想象一下你为”送温暖工程”工作，小组讨论你能做什么去帮助老亨利开心。

2. students give different suggestions to help the old man. clean the house /play chess/watch a movie /play the guitar/cook dinner/buy a dog for him/write a Lost for him/make friends with him/find a family member for him…

Teaching reflection In this class, students can talk about their weekend, and through reading the story,can give so many suggestions to help the old man, then write their opinions,that’s great.but some students didn’t pay attention to the past tense, I think after class,they will master the tense.
