Step1:

Greetings and Leading-in

Greet the whole class as usual and have a free talk.

Step2: Presentation 1)

Show students some pictures to introduce the new words and the target language as:

How’s the weather?

It’s raining\rainy. It’s a rainy day.

Have students finish 1a as quickly as they can and then check the answers.

Step3: Listening

Have students look at the picture on page31, listen to the tape and write down the cities in the correct places. 2)Play the tape recorder and then check the answers. 3)Pair wok

Talk about the weather with the pictures.

Ask some students to make a conversation.

Eg: How is the weather in Moscow?

4)Show the pictures(2a) to ask the students what they are doing. Listen and number the pictures from 1 to 4. 5)Listen again and complete 2b. 6)Check the answers : Ask the students to make a complete sentence.

Eg: Uncle Joe is playing basketball.

7)Practice: Talk about the people in 2a with a partner.

Eg: What’s uncle Joe doing?

He’s playing basketball.

Step4: Conclusion Have students enjoy a beautiful song and sing after it if they can.
