Unit 11 What do you think of game shows？

The First Period Section A ( 1a–1c )

Teaching aims（教学目标）

1. 掌握有关的电视节目名称。

2. 能够用不同的词或者词组表达自己的爱好。

Language points（语言点）

要求掌握以下句式：Do you want to watch the news?

Yes, I do./No, I don’t

What do you think of talk shows? I don’t mind them./I can’t stand them!

/I love watching them! 2．要求掌握以下词汇：

1) 名词n. sitcom, news, soap opera 2) 动词v. plan, hope （本节课的生词较少，而且单词的拼写比较简单，所以学生学起来不会感到困难，如果班级学生的水平较高，可以鼓励学生当堂掌握。）

Difficulties（难点）：掌握want /hope/plan 引导的不定式做宾语

熟练使用love/stand/don’t mind等词表达自己的爱好

Teaching steps（教学步骤）

Step1 Lead-in

（1）Guessing Game

Ask students to guess the teacher’s age, marriage and hobby. T: My hobby is watching TV, do you know which is my favorite TV show? （通过课前游戏激发学生兴趣，活跃课堂气氛。让学生猜老师的爱好引出电视节目这一主题。）

Step2 Presentation (呈现新单词）

T: My favorite TV show is soup opera, how about you? (叫几名学生谈谈他们喜爱的电视节目) T: Now, Let’s begin our journey of TV shows.

Show some pictures of famous TV programs and present the new words. （教师通过让学生欣赏不同的电视节目的图片，引出新知识，并让学生对电视节目的分类有清楚的认识。看图片让学生呼出节目的名称，老师把这些电视节目的名称板书在在黑板上）

T: What other TV shows do you know? S: Cartoons, action movies, scary movies...... Step3 Presentation (呈现新句型）

T: What do you think of the scary movies? (show the picture of a scary movie) T: I can’t stand them.

T: What do you think of news? I don’t mind it.
