Unit 5 Why do you like koalas? 主题是通过谈论动物来熟练运用“why—because”句型提出疑问，解决问题。通过对本单元的学习，学生能够对动物的性格及自己对动物的喜好的原因进行交流表达，并能够熟练运用“why—because”句型来询问他人的爱好，解释原因。通过对动物的描述，让学生从潜意识意识到动物的重要性，让学生自觉的爱护动物，保护动物，进而激发学生对大自然的保护意识。

学情分析

七年级（16）班为二层次学生，本班学生在英语方面基础知识掌握不是很好，学习积极性不是很高，对于重难点知识的讲解需要更多的以导入和铺垫为主，在激发他们兴趣的基础上引导他们进行学习。本单元以动物为主题，可以很好地通过动物图片展示对所学知识进行很好的预习，对动物有较强烈的兴趣。学生之前已经学过了why what where 引导的特殊疑问句的句型，对本节课的学习有了认知的前提，而且各种各样的动物的信息能够激发他们的好奇心，产生了解他们的欲望，同时利用动物图片预习新知识，有利于本节课教学和学生学习兴趣的培养。

学习目标

1.通过集中识词以及PPT图片展示，能掌握以下单词：tiger, elephant, panda, lion, koala, giraffe, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind, kind of, Australia, south, Africa, South Africa, pet, leg, cat, sleep

2.通过小组合作学习，能掌握以下句型：

通过小组合作学习以及对话练习，能够学会描述动物的性格及特点以及表达喜欢某类动物及说明喜欢的原因。
