学情分析：

通过近一年的初中英语学习，本班学生英语基础比较扎实，英语学习有较高的积极性，优生在课堂上比较愿意主动发言，基础稍差的同学能够通过课堂上的小组合作获取来自同伴的帮助。通过Section A的学习，学生已经学会用方位介词表述建筑物的方位,并学会用不同的表达方式来问路。在Section B的第一课时，学生学习了如何指路，为本课的阅读做下的铺垫。

教材分析：

单元教材分析：本单元是七年级下的第八单元。本单元的主题是街坊邻里。Section A是对学生进行与社区环境和设施相关的词汇、方位介词短语以及there be句型的一般疑问句及其回答的知识输入。让学生学会运用正确的方位介词来描述各种社区设施的地理位置。 Section B 在A的基础上进一步拓展话题，同样围绕邻里社区的各种设施和场所位置，让学生通过各种相关活动，了解如何用英语问路和指路，最后学会用文字描述自己的街坊领里。

本节课是阅读课，文本分为三个小片段，分别介绍了Anna，John和Lisa的街区以及三位主人公常去的地方和常做的事。第一部分由2a引入话题，与同伴一起谈论自己家附近的地方。2b快速阅读文本，学会通过快速阅读来将三个片段分别与图片匹配。2c阅读回答问题，帮助学生获取更多文本内容细节信息。读后老师设计问题引导学生理解文章的深层信息。文章再现了本单元的重点词汇、语法、功能项目，内容丰富，便于帮助学生巩固本单元所学知识。
