单元教材分析：本单元是人教新目标八年级下册第五单元，本单元谈论的主题是过去的事情，其功能项目是“talk about the past”和

“ tell a story”,主要围绕“回忆过去发生的事”展开教学活动，创设生动真实的教学情境，再现故事情节，学会使用过去进行时的表达法。学生在学习了现在进行时和一般过去时的基础上，对过去进行时的理解应当不难，因此运用起来相对得心应手。本单元要求学生熟练使用过去进行时态，学习when与while 引导的时间状语从句，在具体情境中加以运用；在写作中运用过去时合理地描述自己的生活经历，表达自己的情感。

过程与方法：以学生为中心，开展任务型教学，利用看图说话、小小报道、小记者行动等活动，让学生参与整个课堂的学习过程。通过听说训练，学生掌握过去进行时态的表达，创设真实的语境，学以致用。

教学重点：

过去进行时的基本用法和实际运用

教学难点：when和while 引导的时间状语从句。
