《It’s very hot.》

一、基本说明

1、教学内容:《New standard English》 Book8 Module 7 Lesson I It’s about space. Generally speaking, this book presents a dialog or a story in unit 1. It provides us very good language materials. For lesson 1, students should at least know the story and then try to use the language and do a lot of practice in the next 3 lessons.

2、Students: They are from Xinhualu Primary school. They love to show themselves, they respect teachers, they are always ready to listen, to cooperate. 3、time:

35 minutes 二、教学设计 1、教学目标:

⑴. Moral educational aim:①To arouse the students’ interests for English. ②Help them build up self- confidence and spirit of co-operation. ③By learning something about space, arouse students’ interests for space and love for our planet earth. ⑵. Intellective aim:①Students can understand and express “near to …& far form…”. ②They Can describe the sun and the three planets. or even the eight planets as an extension. 2、内容分析:

①New words: space sun planet ring ② Key Sentences: This planet is near to the sun. It’s very hot. This planet is far from the sun. It’s very cold. 3、教具准备:CAI radio a keyboard a wireless keyboard pictures 4、教学过程:

Ⅰ、Warm-up:

Greeting

Talk about the weather first. Then elicit it’s in spring now, it’s a good time for us to plant trees. ·It’s a good time for us to plant trees. Now let’s plant trees together in this class.

·Look, there are four seeds of trees. (G1: apple ; G2:orange ; G3: peach ; G4:pear )

·When you answer questions, the trees will grow and bring forth fruit.

·If you all do a very good job, our planet earth will be more beautiful.

(评价方式结合三月植树节,结合本课情感教育目标——爱护地球,同时树的生长过程也蕴涵一定的人生道理。)

Sing a song.

Now let’s sing the song “Twinkle, twinkle, little star.”

(The song with beautiful actions makes the class very active.)

Ⅱ、Pre-reading: Do you like stars? Where are the stars? (elicit space) Watch a short video about space.( The beautiful flash arouse students to enjoy, to think and be willing to express.)

They may talk about anything they can say about space. When the topic comes to the planets, I ask “ How many planets go around the sun?”

Ⅲ、While-reading: ⑴

watch the flash (故事整体呈现)

Our friends Sam, Amy, Lingling and Daming are talking about the planets and the sun. Let’s go with them. Question: How many planets are they talking about? ( Whole teaching method)

: Tell the story

I use direct Courseware to show the story Picture by picture,have students observe, discuss and tell. I just ask some questions to lead them think. And use body language to deal with some new words.

(Cooperation can involve all the active, the weak and the quiet students. )

(提问引领,讨论环节利用学生信息差及已有知识储备调动孩子们用英语思维,并乐于表达。)

Learn the story (用板书再讲故事,练习每副图中词句——可用电脑显示学号随机抽取同学的方式来练习) Practice makes perfect!. Practice : What’s the sun like? The sun is very big and very hot. What’s this planet like? It’s very hot. It’s near to the sun. What’s this planet like? It’s very cold. It’s far from the sun. What’s this planet like? It’s very beautiful. It’s got three beautiful rings. (Here in order to check understanding and deepen the impression, I invite students to come to the platform to act out the sun and the three planets. To arouse 100% students’

attention, I designed the “lucky click”, just like lottery. The procedure stops at which number, the corresponding student should come to the platform.) ⑷

: Extension: Work in groups and try to act out the eight planets and the sun.(拟人化的表演八大行星和太阳环节增强了趣味性,增加了学生体验度,也更深一层地检测他们的理解及表达能力,这也是本课的一大难点。)

Emotional aim: Point and ask “Can we live on this planet?” Elicit- There’s only one planet we can live on. It’s our planet earth. And we just have one earth. So we should love our earth (最后引出地球是唯一适合人类生存的星球,达成本课的情感态度目标,让孩子们爱护地球,爱护家园。)

How to love our earth? Discuss. Then compare the beautiful earth with the dirty earth, we get a conclusion: Love our earth, love our home. ⑷

.Homework: Listen to the tape and tell your family about the space.
