Jill lives in Shanghai. Her friend Tommy lives in Harbin. And Bella lives in Kunming. They have a new pen pal Amy. She lives in Sydney, Australia. Today, Jill and her friends are chatting with Amy on line.

Jill: Good morning, Amy. Amy: Good morning and Merry Christmas.

Tommy: Merry Chritmas. What are you doing now? Amy: I’m having a holiday now.

Bella: Really? How nice! We will have a winter holiday when Spring Festival is coming. Amy: When is the Spring Festival? Bella: It will be in February this year. Amy: What a pity! In Australia, summer comes in December. It’s summer now.

Jill: Amazing! It’s cold here in China. What’s the weather like in Sydney now?

Amy: The sun shines and shines, and it’s very hot. The high temperature is about 27 degrees. The low temperature is about 19 degrees these days. There is no snow at Christmas. Tommy: Don’t forget to wear sunglasses when you go out.

Amy: Yeah! Thank you. I won’t forget. And we often go to the beach at Christmas. We go swimming and have a Christmas Party. It’s always fun. I like Christmas very much. Bella: Hi, Amy. I listened to the radio. Here’s the weather report. The high temperature will be 15 degrees. And the low will be 5 degrees. Usually, there is little rain in winter in Kunming. But it will turn rainy next week. You can come here to enjoy beautiful flowers and go to a hot spring. The food here is delicious too. You can taste the famous Rice Noodles. Don’t forget to put on more clothes.

Jill: Hello, Jill. I watched the weather report and now I can tell you something about the weather in a few days.There is little snow in winter in Shanghai. The high temperature will be 12 degrees. And the low will be 3 degrees next week. It will be sunny from Monday to Friday. But it will turn rainy next weekend. You can go up the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to have a good look at the city. You can also go to Yu Garden and try some Chinese food there. Don’t forget to wear warm clothes.

Tommy: Hey, Jill. I surfed the Internet. It snows now and it will still snow next week. There is much snow everywhere. The high temperature will be minus 12 degrees. And the low will be -20 degrees next week. You can come and play with the snow. You can have snowball fights, make snowmen, go skiing and watch the ice-lanterns. Of course, the food here is yummy. It’s different form Shanghai or Kunming because of the weather. Don’t forget to wear heavy coats.
