Section B (2a-2c) 教学目标：

1．

能记住和正确使用下列词汇： race, host, child, state, study, miss, wish, American, any other, young, delicious, still, the United States, Dragon Boat Festival. 2．

能运用skimming 和

scanning 等阅读策略，提高阅读水平和速度，培养在阅读中快速获取信息的技巧和能力。

3．

通过学习了解时差问题和中国传统节日——端午节，了解中西方文化习俗的不同。

教学重难点：

1. Use the Present Continuous Tense to describe daily activities. 2. Comprehend the meaning report and answer respected questions. 3. Understand the structure of this report and retell it in students’ own words.

教学过程：

Step1 Warming-up Teacher shows the picture of Qu Yuan, and ask the students what they know about the person. (He is a great poet and the Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate him) Teacher shows the questions about the festival: (1)

When is the Dragon Boat Festival? (2)

Do you know the origin of it? (3)

What do people do on this day?

Step 2 New Concepts (1)

Show the picture of each new word and let the students read after the teacher. (2)

Students have thirty seconds to read the words loudly and then read them one by one . (3)

Read the new words all together. (4)

Students finish the word puzzle (each line have two words) (5)

learn something about time difference. Step 3 Fast- reading

Task 1

read the passage quickly and find out the answers of the following questions. introduce a reading method: skimming. (1)Why are Zhu Hui’s family watching boat races and making zongzi?

(2) Does Zhu Hui like his host family? (3) What does he think about his home in China?

Step4 Careful reading Task 2 Read the article for 5 minutes and then fill in the blanks below. Teacher helps the students to understand the structure of it. check the answers together.

Students come to the blackboard to fill in the blanks, the whole class Task 3 match the verbs in column A with the words in column B (show the reading tips) Teacher chooses one student to read to the others and then check the answers . The whole class read the phrases together.

Step 5 Retelling (pair work) Task 4 retell the story Teacher shows some pictures and key words of the passage to help students to retell the passage. Students

in one group write down the answers on a paper and choose one student to read his passage to the whole class.

Task 5 Guessing Read the following sentences and try to guess the meaning of the red words. Show the students the language points. Students take notes. Step 6 Practice Fill in the blanks.

Step 7 Summary 1.掌握重要的词汇和短语； 2.掌握一些阅读技巧,加强对文章的理解; 3.进一步学习巩固现在进行时；

4.通过短文的阅读，领略中西方不同的文化风俗。

Step 8:Homework 1.Write down five sentences about what your family are doing . 2.Suppose(假设) today is the Spring Festival, what are your family doing? Write a composition.
