Lesson plan: Unit 5 I’m Can I have a pet? Part B&C Teaching objectives: A. Grasp the new words in part B: rabbit , pet, basket, hold.

B. Be able to understand the sentences patterns: a) Can I have a cat?—Yes, you can./ No, you can’t.

C. Be able to read the dialogue correctly, fluently and affectionately , use the main words and sentences in the situations.

D. Have the students know how to ask someone’s pets and how to express their favorite pets. Teaching key points and difficulties:

A. Students can read aloud the main words and sentences.

B. Students read the dialogue in part C correctly, fluently and affectionately , use the main words and sentences in the situations. Teaching aids: PPT, word cards, some paper Teaching steps: Step 1 Greeting and Warming up Play the PPT and sing the song(PPAP) together. Let the Ss sing and do the actions. Step 2 Review ①

Review some words learned by playing the game.

Look and say: a) What would you like?—I’d like…c)Do

you want some…?--Yes, please./ No, thank you.

Step 3 Presentation and drill ①

Today, we are going to learn Unit 5. And this class, we are going to have a match between four groups. If you do a good job, I’m going to give you a pet.

Let’s go to the pet shop and introduce a new friend—a rabbit by the riddle to the Ss. T shows the PPT, the rabbit is a pet. Teach the new words: rabbit, pet. Let Ss know more pets by PPT.

T: Look! Where’s the rabbit? Oh, it’s in the basket. Teach the new word—basket.

T: Look! Where’s the rabbit now? →It’s in the cage. Teach the new word—cage. ⑤

There is a lovely girl. She likes rabbit very much.She says “Can I hold it?”

→Sure. Teach the new word—hold. ⑥

Read after the tape in Part B. Then Ss follow the T several times.

T: Dongdong and his mother are in the pet shop ? What did he buy? Which one have for the pet? Let Ss listen and choose the answer by themselves. ⑧

Check the answers and read after the tape in Part B&C.
