Teaching procedure Lead in: voice of different animals T: What are the animals? Where can we see those animals?

S: Zoo. What animals do you like to see in a zoo? Why? Invite some Ss to answers. T show pictures of different animals and ask: What do you think of tigers/ lions/ giraffes? Invite some Ss to answer with the description words. Step I I’ll give some examples and then Ss match the description words with the animals. At the same time, Ss write the description words under the animals. Read the words together T: what animals do you like? Why? Invite some Ss to answers with the sentence structures: I like... because...

I don’t like... because... Show some sentences for Ss to read together. Step II: Listen and circle the words you hear And then, I’ll ask: look at the chart, what animals do Mary and Tony like? What what do they think of these animals?

Please listen again and write down the animals and description words. I’ll tell them, write the key letters first when you listen, and then complete the whole answers. Step III: Talk about the animals you know with your partner. Ss practice the conversation and show in class. Step IV: Animals are our friends, we must protect them. V.
