Teach the questions Did...? and Were...? And the

answers. Read the questions and the options given in Part D with pupils.T: 'Were the children helpful?' is the past tense form of '

Are the children helpful?' We use the past tense here because the things in the story happened in the past. 'Weren't' is the short form of 'were not'.Do the same for Did...? and didn’t.
