Step1:Warming up 1. Read a chant together with the rock music. 2. Greeting How are you? What day is it today? What’s the date today? What did you do last holiday? (Ss may answer: I went dancing. /I went hiking. /I ate dim sum....) Step 2: Lead in

1. Could you guess: What did Ms Chen do last holidays? 2. Ss have a Brain Storm to talk about what Ms Chen ddid last hoilday. 3.

Let’s go and learn Chapter 4 My diary.

And please listen to Ms Chen’s diary carefully.

Divide the students into two groups:

Girls and Boys

New sentences structure:

4. Teacher reads or play the video of Ms Chen’s dairy which is written with pictures and words. 5. Present what did Ms Chen do last holiday and lead in the topic: Charlie’s diary

Step 3: Presentation 1.

T show a picture of a farm and talk about it with questions:

A.Where were they?

B.What was the date?

C. How was the weather?

D.What did they do ? 2.

Ss have a Brain Storm to answer them. 3.

Show some activities of the diary in pictures and ask ss to say the key words. 4.

Listen and put the pictures in order. 5.

Divide the diary to three part according to a day: In the morning, At noon, In the afternoon.

Scene 1 In the morning

(1). Look at the picture then guess the information..

(2). Listen and fill in the blank to check their guessing.

(3). Listen again and choose the right words to fill in the blank, then read follow the CD. Transition:“I am hungry. (Teacher does the action of hungry)What should we do? Ss will answer: Let’s go and have lunch. Scene 2 At noon (1)

. What did Cherry and Charlie have for lunch? Ss will have a Brain Storm to guess what they had and talk.

Listen and check Ss’ guessing. (3)

Listen again and fill in the blank, then read follow the CD. (4)

Emotional education and Brain Storm.

“The food are ....”

Ss may say: delicious, healthy, yummy, fresh and so on.

Tell Ss that We should eat more healthy food.

Show some pictures of KFC, Barbecue, sausage, can food, and so on. Tell ss “They are junk food, unhealthy food. Don’t eat junk food and unhealthy food.”

Transition:“Yummy, yummy! I am full. Let’s go to play.” Guess: Where did they go? Ss will have a Brain storm to guess. Then present.

Ss say out the phrase learn today:

Practise the simple tense verb and past tense verb.

Come to the text book. Present the diary and ss follow the CD. 4.
