Step 1

Free talk

2 Teacher show a picture about animals( including monkey,dog, pig,

(Warmingelephant, duck and so on) , let Ss to -up) talk about it. And show the words and review the sounds of letters.

Step 2 Lead-in Tell a story

There is a photo of two elephants

One is a girl. Her name is Phot.

One is a boy.His name is Peter.

The girl elephant likes apples.

The boy elephant likes potatoes.

Step 3

Sum up what we learn the words

Summary ( elephant Phot photo

potato ) Pronunciation rule : ph=f

Step 4

(Presentation) 1 Retell the story sentence by sentence and learn new words

The first sentence: There is a photo of two elephants

2nd:

One is a girl. Her name is Phot.

The girl elephant likes apples.

The boy elephant likes potatoes.

2 Find out the pronunciation rule

Ask Ss to find out the rule by observing and reading out the words “ elephant” “Phot” “Peter”“apple”“potato”

Then the teacher sums up the pronunciation of “ph”

( show ph =f)

3 Let’s chant

Apple potato , potato apples

An elephant likes apples. An elephant likes apples. Where is Peter?Where is Phot?

They are in the photo. They are in the photo.

T : Today Phot and Peter have a math.The girls stand for the girl elephant Phot. The boy stand for the boy elephant Peter.If the girls win, will be gained the apples. If the boys win, will be gained the potatoes.

Challenge 1:

Let’s read

Teach students how to spell the words with “ph”and

“p”. Then give more example words and ask them to spell words by themselves.

Teacher let Ss to choose number and read the words.

(behind the number with the words: phot , put , phuk, phig, Peach, phap,pig, pheek)

Challenge 2:

Let’s try more ( Group -work) Provide Ss with more consonants and ask them to make new

words and read them by themselves.

Challenge 3:

Play a game “Bomb”

Read words that contained “Ph”

“p” .(Teacher shows

some words with“bomb”)

Challenge 4: Look , listen and write .

Homework

1 Listen the words on Page 16 2 Write the new words
