Dad’s Jacket

一、教学目标

1.

语言能力目标:学生能够读懂故事情节;惟妙惟肖地模仿录音;绘声绘色地独立朗读故事;能复述主要故事情节;能生动地表演故事。

2.

非语言能力目标:通过让学生观察误卖爸爸夹克的趣事培养学生的观察力;培养学生的爱心;通过表演和讨论培养学生的表达能力。

1. 导入(Lead-in):展示图片,了解Help Children in Need

通过展示图片,帮助学生了解贫困儿童的生活,为看图讲故事做好铺垫。

(1)教师提前制作一张Help Children in Need海报贴在教室里,播放Children in Need宣传视频(见课件),让学生了解该项目。

(2)展示需要帮助的儿童的图片(见课件),并与学生互动:

Look at the children.

Do they look good? Where do they live?

What do they eat?

Do they have warm clothes? They are children in need. Would you like to help? (请学生自由作答)

Biff, Chip, Kipper and other children wanted to Help Children in Need. What did they do? What did Dad do? Let’s learn the story Dad’s Jacket.

2.

看图讲故事(Storytelling):理解故事情节,观察大家如何帮助贫困儿童

教师利用课件逐幅播放故事图片,并用丰富的表情、生动的英文和适当的肢体语言给学生绘声绘色地讲故事,让学生观察孩子们帮助贫困儿童以及爸爸的夹克被误卖的过程。

(Picture 1)Look at picture 1. What did the children do? They put some tables outside. Why did they put the tables outside? (Picture 2)They wanted to help Children in Need. Look! Chip made a poster.(指向Chip正在制作的海报)

It said, “Help Children in Need”. (Picture 3)Biff and Nadim had some plants.(指向Biff和Nadim)

How about Kipper and Wilma? (指着Kipper和Wilma)

They had some clothes. Wilf had some books. (指向Wilf)

The children had a jumble sale. Look at Anneena. What did she want to do? (请学生自由猜测)

(Picture 4)Anneena had a good idea.

She invented a game. She showed Dad the game. “That’s interesting! Let me have a go,” said Dad. Dad took off his jacket. He put it beside the old clothes. (Picture 5)A man came for some clothes. He put Dad’s jacket on. (配合动作)

“It’s a good fit,” he said. “How much is it?”

(模仿人物表情,注意语调)

“It’s five pounds,” said Wilma. The man bought the jacket, “Good! Here is the money.”

(配合递钱的动作)

Look at Dad. Did he know what happened? No, Dad enjoyed Anneena’s game so much.

(Picture 6)Dad came back for his jacket. Could he find it? No. The man bought it. “Oh no!” said Wilma. “I’m sorry. A man bought it.”

(Picture 7)Dad ran after the man. “Stop!” he called. “That’s my jacket.”

The man stopped. “No, it’s my jacket,” he said. “Give me ten pounds for it.”

Why did the man ask for ten pounds? (鼓励学生大胆猜测并作答)

(Picture 8)“Oh no,” said Dad. Then he gave the man ten pounds. The man gave the jacket to Dad. (Picture 9)Did the man go away with the money? No. He gave Wilma the money. “It’s for Children in Need,” he said. Was he a kind man? Yes. What a kind man! 教师要注意启发学生思考,每次提问之后稍作停顿,不要急于说出答案,先观察学生的反应,如学生仍回答困难,再进一步给出提示引导学生作答。

3.

听录音模仿(Listening and Imitating):听懂录音并模仿出标准的语音语调

听录音模仿时,录音是什么音什么调,就让学生模仿成什么音什么调,注意以下单词发音:bunch, upset, rush, enormous,同时注意以下句子的语气及表达的不同情感:“It’s a good fit.”“Oh no! I’m sorry. A man bought it.”“Stop! That’s my jacket.”

(1)放录音,让学生完整地听一遍故事,整体输入,不需停顿。

(2)放录音,全班学生齐声模仿1-2遍。要求学生逐句跟读,鼓励学生大胆开口,读出戏剧化效果,读出感情。教师要引导学生用满意的语气读“It’s a good fit.”,用愧疚的语气读“Oh no! I’m sorry. A man bought it.”,用焦急的语气读“Stop! That’s my jacket.”。

朗读故事(Reading Dramatically):读懂故事并学会绘声绘色地独立朗读故事

通过多种形式的朗读,让学生能够绘声绘色地独立朗读故事,培养学生有感情朗读故事的习惯,练就扎实的语言基本功。

(1)集体朗读。教师组织全班同学齐声朗读一遍故事。

(2)小组朗读。将学生分成小组,小组内部接龙朗读,把故事读得绘声绘色、声情并茂。朗读过程中,教师根据学生读的情况给予表扬、鼓励和指导,对朗读困难或有问题的学生给予指导和示范。

5. 检查理解(Story Comprehension):回顾故事情节,加深对故事的理解

(1)图片排序

教师将故事图片(3、4、5、8、9)打乱顺序贴在黑板上,请1名学生上台进行排序。

(2)看图问答,回顾故事情节

教师针对故事图片逐一提问,请学生根据图片作答,并找出每幅图的关键词,写在图片的下方。问题和关键词可参考:

(图4)Why did Dad take off his jacket? Where did Dad put his jacket?(invented a game, have a go)

(图5)What did the man do?(put Dad’s jacket on, bought the jacket)

(图8)What did Dad do?(gave the man ten pounds)

(图9)What did the man do?(gave Wilma ten pounds, for Children in Need)

(3)复述故事

让学生自由结成5人小组,根据图片和关键词复述故事,每人复述一幅图。准备2-3分钟后,请1-2组展示。

6. 表演(Role-play):模拟真实情景,体会故事人物的心情变化

(1)表演热身

让学生自由结成5人小组,分别扮演the narrator、Anneena、Dad、Wilma和the man,表演故事中图4-9的部分。小组内准备2分钟。

(2)表演展示

请1-2组学生上台表演。表演前,教师提醒学生要先介绍自己的角色,如“Hello! I’m ...”。同时,为了表演效果更佳,教师可提前准备一些头饰、实物等道具。

7. 讨论(Discussion):讨论故事人物,进行情感教育

由故事人物(the man)引出讨论问题,培养学生乐于助人的意识。

The man gave Wilma ten pounds. What would you do if you were the man? Would you take the money?

What else can you do to help Children in Need? (Would you like to give them your extra book/clothes/toys/pocket money?)

讨论后,请小组代表发言,如学生回答有困难,教师需给予引导和帮助。

8.

家庭作业(Homework)

(1)反复模仿录音,熟读故事。

(2)制作“Help Children In Need”的海报,让学生回家找一找自己的旧衣服、书本、玩具等,在班内组织一个帮助Children in Need的募捐活动。
