一、教学目标

1．知识与能力目标：

(1）掌握常见动物名称panda, lion, monkey, elephant, tiger, penguin, giraffe, dolphin等。

(2)会使用描述动物的形容词cute, clever, smart, beautiful, strong, interesting, shy, friendly等。

(3)恰当正确运用Do you like...s? Yes, I do./ No, I don’t. 和Why do you like…s? Because they are… 句型进行交际。

(4)为班级设计吉祥物，且阐述理由。

二、过程与方法目标：

（1）通过组间交流，组外评价的方式使学生更加了解自己的学习情况。

（2）通过设计班级吉祥物活动，发挥学生的想象力和创造力。

三、情感和态度：

（1）通过交流，获取自己所需要的信息，明确在学习和生活中都要积极与人合作，相互帮助，共同发展。在小组活动中培养学生的合作意识及团队精神。

（2）并通过多元化的活动形式，培养学生学习英语的兴趣。

（3）通过学习本课知识，使学生们爱护动物，关心集体，热爱集体。

四、学情分析：

1. 本堂课的授课班级是七年级同学。他们性格活泼、喜欢表达、善于展示自己，对英语学习的热情高，语言基础都较扎实，但在口语，词汇和准确性上仍需要加强。 2.初中学生对小组活动，比赛和游戏具有浓厚的兴趣，因此本课采用灵活多样的活动形式，以激发学生参与的热情和学习的积极性。

五、重点难点：

重点：（1）掌握动物名称和描述动物的形容词。 (2)

掌握Why引导的特殊疑问句且给出理由。

难点：如何恰当正确使用描述动物的形容词，且将所学词汇恰当运用到为班级设计吉祥物的活动中。在设计吉祥物活动中，充分运用所学句型Why do you like …s? Because they are… 阐述理由，且言之有物，将动物形象与班级精神联系在一起，实现用语言交际的功效，同时激发学生关心班级，热爱班级的情感。

六、教学过程

教学活动

Step1 Lead in

1. Play a video clip and let students take down the animals they see in the video. 2. Check the answers with students

Step2 Learn some animals. 1. Encourage students to speak out other animals they know.

2. Show some animals’ pictures.

Step3 Learn some description words 1.

Ask students” what do you think of the animals?” Let them

speak out as many description words as possible. For example, if one student says “I think they are cute.” ,The teacher asks”what other animals do you think are cute?”. In this way, let them speak the animal words and description words as many as possible. 2.

Show a picture of description words and teach them how to read them. 3.

Let them make some phrases and sentences one by one, For example, student A says”scary tigers” and student B must says “tigers are scary.”

Step4 Find out the difference. 1.

Show some animals, and let them discuss with partners and tell the teacher “which animal is different?”

According to this step, let them practice the animal words and description words. Different students may have different ideas, they can give their different opinions.

Step5 Listen to 2a and 2b.

1. Let students listen to the tape and do Exercise 2a and 2b on Page 14. 2. Check the answers with students.

Step6 2c Pair work 1.

Teach student the sentences ”Does she/he like pandas? B:Yes, she/he does. / No, she/he doesn't. A:why does/ doesn't she/he like pandas? B:Because they are very/ kind of interesting.” let some pairs make conversations.

Play a game. Prepare some animal cards and let two student put them on the blackboard. When the teacher says one animal, if they like it, they must take it away.

After that, ask the student “do you like pandas?” he/she may say yes or no, then ask him “why do you like pandas?” let him answer the question. Ask other students”does he/ she like pandas? Why does/ doesn’t he/ she like pandas?”

Let student discuss with partners and practice the sentences.

Step7 Group work: create a mascot for our class. 1. Let students have a discussion in groups and decide on an animal as the mascot for their class.

2. Let students draw a mascot in groups and prepare for the report.

Step8 Invite some groups to show the picture of the mascot and give the report why they would like to choose that animal.

Step9 Summarize and assign homework: write the report.

教学反思：

1.充分利用多媒体和网络资源，为知识导入和教学活动提供了素材。

2．通过视频、游戏等环节充分调动了学生的积极性.

3.通过变换教学方法和教学手段提高课堂效率。

4. 通过小组活动培养了学生使用目标语言的能力，同时增强了小组合作交流的意识。

不足：

本节课教学任务量比较大，因此教学过程显得有些仓促。有待于今后进一步的优化。
