一、教学目标：

三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming-up and Lead in

1. Greet the students as usual.

2. Show some pictures and talk about what people are doing. Then lead in the topic of Unit 7 -- It’s raining.

Ⅱ. Presentation

1. (Show some pictures of the weather)

Let students look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.

Students learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures.

Students look at the words on the blackboard. Then read the words together.

2. Move on 1a: Ask students to match the words with pictures.

3. Check the answers.

Ⅲ. Practice (Word Scramble) 1. Work in the group of six. Discuss and write down the right words on the paper together. 2. Ask some students to answer the question and check with the class.

Ⅳ. Listening

1. Show some pictures about the places in 1a. Then students look at the city names and read after the teacher.

2. Move on 1b: Listen carefully! Ask Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather.

3. Check the answers.

Ⅴ. Practice 1. Tell the Ss: Look at some pictures, then talk about the place and the weather with each group.

T: Where is the rabbit?

S1: It's in Moscow.

T: How is the weather there?

Ⅵ. Listening

1. Work on 2a.

Let's see what Joe's families are doing according to the 4 pictures.

2. Ask Ss tell each person is doing in each picture. More attentions should be paid to the correct use of the Present Progressive Tense.

3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures [1-4].

4. Play the tape for Ss to check the answers.

5. Work on 2b.

Let Ss match the names with the activities in 2b. Play the recording for the Ss to check the answers.

6. Listen again and complete the conversation on the paper. Check the answer with the class.

Ⅶ. Group work

1. Give each small group 6 cards. Then According to these 6 cards, talk about them with your partners on the phone, discuss and make your own conversation. 2. Give Ss a conversation as a model: A: Hello, Alice. B: Hi, Jack. How are you ? A:
