一、教学目标：

1. 知识与技能：通过识图，学生能够掌握主题图中各种社区设施的名词；

学会使用there be句型询问和描述各种社区设施的地理位置

2. 情感态度：通过谈论街区的周遭环境，学生逐步学习在陌生环境中如何得体

地运用英语在街上问路，及为他人简单地指路，给予力所能及的帮助

3. 学习策略：利用地图或观察图片获取图片中的有用信息

二、教学重难点：

1. 教学重点：

1）词汇：post office, police station, hotel, hospital, bank, restaurant, street, pay phone

2）句型：--Is there a… near here?

--Yes, there is. It’s on …Street. / No, there isn’t.

2. 教学难点：

运用there be句型的一般问句进行问路和指路，或运用于生活对话中

Step One: 导入

Show the goals of this class. 示标

Step Two: 1.Show a map of the places around our school, ask the students to speak out the places they have already known. 2.Talk about the topic picture. 3.Do 1a on P43. 4.Play a piece of video and check what they get. Practice the sentence “There is a…near our school.”

Step Three: 预学

1. Do 1b, listen and circle. Then listen again, get the key words. 2. Let the students to summarize how to ask the way and tell the way.

Step Four: 1. Pairwork: Do 1c, practice the sentence pattern: A: Is there a…near here?

B: Yes, there is. It’s on …Street. /No, there isn’t.

2. Groupwork: The students show the map of their homes and practice 三、

the pattern again: 探究

A: Is there a …near your home? 提升

B: Yes, there is. It’s on …Street. /No, there isn’t.

3. Play a game: Find differences.
