Pupils Analysis According to English Course Standard <英语课程标准>，to interest pupils is the top priority when teaching English. As for the language itself, the pupils in Grade 2 have already learnt some simple dialogues and some clothing items.They have learnt to use

modelled sentences to indicate possession,using nouns to identify clothing items.So this period is to review and strengthen the usages of them by acting out the story and to arouse their interest by having a fashion show. Also, the pupils have mastered certain skills of reading,listening,speaking and the technique of cooperating with others.They know a little knowledge about weather as well.

Text Analysis 

The content is closely related to the pupils’ daily life and can easily intrigue their interest to learn. Through the study in this period, the pupils will better master the items of different clothes ,they can review some words about clothes in different seasons in daily life, and to be aware of weather and its proper clothes around them.From acting the story, they learn to help other people , which makes learning this period so important. Teaching Goals 

Language Knowledge Goal: Be able to listen, speak, and read the materials. 

Language Using Goal: Be able to use the modelled sentences to indicate possession,using nouns to identify clothing items 

Sentiment-and-attitude Goal: Be interested in the content and motivated to learn English. Inspire the pupils to help each other. 

Learning Strategy Goal: Be able to communicate with others more effectively. 

Culture Goal: Be interested in the knowledge of clothes in different seasons.

Key Points and Difficult Points The key point in this period is:

1.Review the new words and expressions in this Unit,such as the words: trousers, sweater, shirt, coat, and the sentence “ I have...”etc. 2.To understand and act out the story.

The difficult point is : To act out the story and to introduce their clothes.

Presentation&Consolidation 1.

Ask the pupils to look at the pictures of four seasons, and to tell what clothes they have in different seasons. 2.

Ask the pupils to say out the names of the clothes shown, so as to review the words they learnt.. 3.

Ask some pupils to come out and show their clothes brought. Have a Fashion Show.Get them to introduce their own clothes in the end. 4.

Ask the pupils to listen to a story about a sweater twice,get them to answer questions about the story,so as to check their understanding. 5.

Ask them to imagine what Sam(the dog) would say if it could talk. 6.

Ask the pupils to listen and watch the video about a sweater 7.

Get them to open their books and read the story together.

Ask the pupils to stand up and follow the teacher to do gestures as they recite the story.

Divide the class into groups of three,ask them to practise to act out the story. 10.

The pupils are interested in this lesson, because it is closely connected to our daily life. They can say out words about clothes in different seasons, and some other words outside our text as well. In this period, they can make use Postscript modelled sentences to indicate possession,using nouns to identify clothing items. They can role-play the story and introduce their clothes as well.They master the main words and patterns better in this period. I think we achieved our goals.
