Unit 6 I’m watching TV. Section B 1 1a-1e 一、教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

1) 能掌握以下单词短语：shopping,swimming, in a pool, in a shop, at a supermarket, man

2) 能掌握以下句型：

1. 教学重点：

1) 询问别人正在哪里干某事并进行肯定否定回答。

进一步练习运用现在进行时态的句子来描述他人在做的事情。

2) 通过听、说的练习，提高学生们的口语运用和表达能力。

三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming- up and revision 1. Let’s chant.

2. Review the knowledge on the present progressive tense.

①Students have to use these sentences like “What is/are he/she/they doing?

He/She/They are .....”

Students try to add –ing to some verbs. Ⅱ. Presentation

1. T: Show some pictures on the big screen. Present some new words and expressions.

(in the pool, in a shop, at a supermarket, on the playground…)

2. Give Ss some time to remember the new words and expressions.

3. Students learn to make sentences including places like He is playing basketball on the playground. 4.Guessing game—group work

Students make a guess about what Tina is doing in group. Each guess will get one point for their group. The correct guess will get two points. Ⅲ. 1a--Writing 1. T: Look at the pictures below. Where are they? What are they doing? Please look at the pictures and fill in the blanks.

2. Ss look at the pictures about the places and the activities they are doing. Then fill in the blanks.

3. Let some Ss read their answers to the class and check the answers.

Ⅳ. 1b--Pair work 1. Look at the pictures and ask and answer questions. Give Ss a model: A: Is the man swimming in the river?

B: No, he isn't. He's swimming in a pool.

2. Ss work with their partners. Ask and answer about the pictures. (If necessary, give some help to the Ss.) 3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the pictures.

Ⅴ. 1c--Listening Work on 1c: 1. T: Now I will play a recording of a conversation. This time write the places you hear in the chart.

2. Ss listen and write the places.

3. Play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers.

Ⅵ. 1d--Listening

Work on 1d:

1. This time, please listen to the recording and write the activities you hear in the chart.

2. Check the answers.

3. Further exercise: Finish multiple choice on students’ paper. Ⅶ. 1e--Pairwork

VIII.Sentence-Game 1.

Teacher offer a lot of phrases about places on the screen.Students write strange sentences like Jim is taking a shower on the play ground.
