Teaching procedures

Step 1.Greetings. Step 2.Lead-in.

Show picture of the word sun,and then teach new word sunny.Show the word cloud ,then teach cloudy.Use the same way to teach windy,rainy,snowy.Let the students pay attention to sunny,double N.And tell the students “It’s rainy” is the same as “It’s raining.” So is snowy/snowing. Step 3.Presentation Let students look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.Teach the new patterns:How’s the weather ?/What’s the weather like?It’s sunny/rainy/windy/cloudy/snowy. Step 4.Pair work. Describe the weather in each place on PPT. Step 5.Exercises. Let some students answer them ,then check the answers. Step 6.Presentation of the weather words again . Match the words with the pictures [a-e]. Step 7.Teach some places of interest like Beijing Tiantan,Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower,Toronto Canada's National Tower,Moscow ,Boston.Then finish the listening. Step 8.Game time. Let them guess What they are doing .Review Present progressive tense . Step 9.Listening practices : a:Listen and number the pictures [1-4].And check the answers.Then teach the pattern:How’s it going?Great!/Not bad./Terrible. b:Listen carefully and answer questions on PPT. c:Listen again and complete the conversation.Then let some students answer them.Meanwhile,express the language points:take a message for sb.,call sb. Back,No problem.

Step 10. Reading: Read the conversation in 2d and answer the questions on PPT.Then check the answers. Step 11.Summary. Step 12.Homework：

Suppose your friend is in Moscow /Toronto /Boston…Ask him /her the following questions on the phone.Where are you ?How’s it going ? How’s the weather ? What are you doing ?
