Pre-reading 1 Look, this is the cover of the story. What can you get? This is the title : The grasshopper and the ants. Grass means 草地，hopper means jumper. The insect jumps on the grass. (读课题) It is from Aesop’s Fables. It always tell us something useful.

Scan and answer Scan the story quickly, and answer the question: How many seasons are mentioned? What are they?

Here is a tip:

Can you say sth about the seasons? Summer: hot,sun, lots of food,green... Autumn: cool, leaves ,much food, yellow Winter: cold, snow, not much food,white. 2 What are they doing in summer? Open your book, and read Part 1,2,3,4 alone. Circle the new words and unknown sentences,then try to deal with in twos.

But what is the grasshopper doing ? Is he gathering food? What is he doing? He is dancing and singing. Let’s say sth to the grasshopper. You can say “Work hard, please.” Or else.
