Introduce myself Hello, boys and girls. I’m your new English teacher. You can call me Jane . I like animals. I like ants best. Because they are hard-working. I like reading too. Do you like reading?

I like reading about animals. What about you?. I have some for you. They are all about insects. Let’s have a look. Today, we will choose one to read.

Pre-reading 1 Look, this is the cover of the story. What can you get? This is the title : The grasshopper and the ants. Grass means 草地,hopper means jumper. The insect jumps on the grass. (读课题) It is from Aesop’s Fables. It always tell us something useful.

While reading

Scan and answer Scan the story quickly, and answer the question: How many seasons are mentioned? What are they?

Here is a tip:

Can you say sth about the seasons? Summer: hot,sun, lots of food,green... Autumn: cool, leaves ,much food, yellow Winter: cold, snow, not much food,white. 2 What are they doing in summer? Open your book, and read Part 1,2,3,4 alone. Circle the new words and unknown sentences,then try to deal with in twos.
