Ⅰ. Teaching aims and demands
1. New words review
(1) Review some new words: tall, short, young, old
(2) Review some other new words: long hair, round face
2. Learn some useful sentences:
(1)What does she/he look like?
(2)He/she is tall.
(3)He/she has small eyes.
Ⅱ. Teaching aids: Tape record / pictures/ PPT
Ⅲ. Teaching Process:
Step 1: Warm-up
1.Greeting
Step 2: Presentation
Chant: Students follow the teacher do a chant with the words and phrases. At the same time, they will use their body language.
Step 3: Listen and Answer
1.Students listen the tape and think about the three questions: (1) What did Lingling think? (2) What did Peter think? (3) What does the teacher look like?
2.Watch the video. Check the answers together. Emphasize the words again. After that, teacher lead students to read the sentences. And ask students to ask and answer each other.
Step 4: Micro-course Online Video
Watch the video and learn how to describe others’ appearances. Try the best to follow and imitate it.
Step 5: Game: Who is the best detective?
Divide students into 2 groups. Choose one student to choose the pictures of the criminal. The others should help him/her. For example: “She is...”or “He has...”. The fastest group is the winner.
Step 6: Practice
Choose one favorite star and tell the reasons. Students must use the sentences: “She is.../ She has...”. Teacher encourage students use words and phrases as much as possible. Students share it in their group. After that, teacher choose several students to share it.
Step 7: Emotional education
Never judge from appearances.
Step 8: Homework
Introduce a classmate to your friends with the words and sentences we learned.
反思:
本节课为20分钟微型课,因此要注意课堂指令要尽量简洁,多运用
肢体语言和表情来加以辅助表达,活动设计要新颖有趣,能够让学生自然而然地融入到课堂。我的活动设计多样性和趣味性方面还需加强。
