Step1 Lead-in and Pre-reading 1. Greetings. T: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Nice to see you. Today, there are so many guest teachers in our classroom. First, let’s welcome the teachers, say ‘Hello, teachers!’

2. Talk about the story of ‘The Earth’ and learn the words. T: First, let’s enjoy a vedio（播放地球的英文视频）

1) T: Who is she? Ss: She is the Earth. Teach: the Earth

2) T: She is so beautiful. Ss: She is_______.

T:But how do people treat it? Let’s watch a video (放破坏地球的录像)

T: How do you feel? Are you angry? How do people treat her?

Ss:(胡乱砍伐、水污染、伤害海洋动物、乱丢垃圾、塑料等) 3)T: Yes, people hurt her. So our earth mother is sad. What should we do?

The Earth is our home. We should love and protect it.

2. About ‘Save water’. They’re good ways to protect the Earth. First, we should save water. Now please read by yourself and tell us what do you know? (学生自由读) Read and say.T: Now please tell me what do you know? (教师适当进行追问)

Why---Ss:Wood comes from trees. We use wood to make tables, chairs and many other things(paper\books). But trees also help keep the air clean. Teach: wood（图片）

T:Summary:Trees are useful. Trees help keep the air clean. That’s why we should save trees.

Why---Ss:We use plastic to make bags and bottles.But too much plastic is bad for the Earth.
