Step1. Warming up& Leading in

Let three students recite 3 groups of sentences respectively. 1)-How’s it going? –Not bad, thanks. 2) Can I take a message for him? 3)-Could you just tell him to call me back? –Problem. Students recite these sentences together. 2.

Ask and answer questions about what people are doing from the pictures. e.g.-What’s she doing? –She’s talking on the phone.

1)-What’s he doing? –He’s cooking.

2)-What’s he doing? –He’s washing the dishes.

3)-What’s she doing? –She’s cleaning.

4)-What are they doing? –They’re watching TV.

Look at the pictures, ask and answer questions about the weather. 1)-How’s the weather? –It’s sunny.

2)-How’s the weather? –It’s cloudy.

3)-How’s the weather?–It’s snowy.

4)-How’s the weather?–It’s raining.

5)-How’s the weather?–It’s windy.

Step2. Presenting Grammar Focus: read the sentences in the chart and fill in the blanks.

Summary: 1. Ask weather: How’s the weather? = What’s the weather like? Answer: It’s adj./v-ing. 2.现在进行时中主谓一致，句中主语与be动词保持数量上的一致。
