No place like home.

1. But there isn’t a Dragon Boat Festival in the US, so it’s like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family. 但是在美国没有端午节，所以对朱辉和他的寄宿家庭来说，今晚和任何一个平时的晚上是一样的。

*any other night表示“任何（一个）其他的夜晚”，

any other…表示“任何别的/其他的……”，后接名词单数。

Don’t be so proud. Any other boy here can play this game. 2. The mother is reading a story to her young children. 妈妈正在给她的小孩们读故事书。

read a story to sb.意思是

“读故事给某人听”，和tell the story to sb.有区别，“讲故事给某人听”

Mary often reads newspapers to the old people in the Old People’s Home. Lucy often tells her son’s story to other people. 3. Zhu Hui misses his family and wishes to have his mother’s delicious zongzi. 朱辉很想念他的家人，希望吃到他妈妈亲手包的粽子。

miss动词，“想念”，短语：miss sb. wish动词，“希望”，短语：wish (sb.) to do sth. Parents all wish their children to have strong bodies. wish名词(可)，“愿望”，美好的祝愿:best wishes。

Please give my best wishes to your mother. 4. Zhu Hui likes New York and his host family a lot, but there’s still “no place like home”.虽然朱辉很喜欢纽约和他的寄宿家庭，但“千好万好不如自己的家好”。

a lot=very much, 修饰动词或动词短语，放其后。

如：My brother likes to play computer games a lot.
