教学过程：

Stage 1. Warming up

Step 1. T. guides students to talk about dogs “what do think of the dog” (presents many pictures of dogs with different gestures). Ss are expected to answer “the dog is very cute / really lazy/ kind of smart/ friendly/ shy”

Step 2: Indicates students to talk about “what animals do you like?”

“I like …because” / “what animals don’t you like?”

“I don’t like…. because…”

Step 3: Ss do pair work while the T. circle around the classroom and give help when it is needed.

Step 4: Five pairs express their preferences towards one certain animal. T. gives comments. Step 5: Ss match the description words with the animals in 1a. First T. indicates students to speak out adjectives of quality, like: smart, beautiful, lazy, small, friendly, cute and scary.

Stage 2: Listening and speaking Step 1: Ss listen to 1b and circle the description words they hear in 1a. Step 2: T. checks the answer with students. Step 3: Ss listen to the tape again and write down the description words Mary gave and Tony gave separately. Before they listen to the tape, T. asks students to take notes. Step 4: Ss listen to the tape for the third time because they couldn’t catch the answers for the second time. Step 5: Ss give the answers and T. checks them. Ss read the tape script. And then do pair work.
